Tesco.....

:o Martin - NEVER, EVER ask me about eventing - I know more about water polo !! My knowledge is purely the top people, and the well known horses.( so much so, that I was under the impression that Burley was a 3* event - but thats what you get for only part listenig to the TV commentry teams!!)

Dont know what the hats are like that Tewsco are goign to sell, but assume its like everything - if you know pretty much what you are doing you should be ok - but if youre not sure, then you really should go to a speciallist.

 Trudi.
If you ride at a riding centre I'd check with them what marks the helmet requires to cover insurance and the like.

Water polo's a good sport, don't know much about it but was quite good in goal on holiday :)

I know you need water, ( doesnt stay clean for long cos of the horse - ho ho ho  ) and you can only use one hand. ( oh, and i used to get in trouble for dunking the opposing team to get the ball off them....)

I didn't know you could only use one hand, is that at one time or for the whole game?

Like could I use my left hand and then 5 mins later my right or would I have to just use my left all game?

now youve got technical - i cant remember things like that - it was 1988/9 i played!! ( :o MY GOD, IM OLD!!!!!!! ) Theyve probably changed teh rules 6 times since then!!

At least when you visit Tesco in the late evening there are a few people serving. I`ve just been to my nearest s/market (ASDA) and there were two people on the tills. I dont go at night to queue up, there was even a fucking old bloke meeting and greeting. Words were said and i ended up storming out. Wankers.

So, what was annoying? The fact the greeter was old, that he was male, or that you had to queue? I can't see where there's relevance, O Rapidly-ageing 39 year-old male Euro.

The fact that at 10.30pm they had two people on the till and about ten stocking the shelves. The manager/supervisor in charge obviously had no clue about staff deployment.

How many people were at the tills and how long were you queuing for? It does seem a bit of an over-reaction to storm out, surely you will end up spending more time storming out, finding another shop, getting all of the shopping together again and then paying????

It wasn`t a big shop, but i`ll be visiting other stores from now on. Bottom line is ten people stocking the shelves before midnight is excessive.

Not really, Euro - the more staff who come in to re-stock during the night means the shelves get stacked without inconveniencing daytime shoppers, unlike the ghastly nonsense in Asda, where not only is stock lying all over the floor in boxes, but you're forever dodging four-tier wheeled trolleys being whizzed up and down the aisles by spotty youths during daytime shopping. You can hardly get at what you want since they're re-stocking all day long. Since Wal-Mart took over, there seems to have been a downturn in the actual CONVENIENCE of shopping in an Asda store - it's more like trying to work your way round Clapham Junction at rush hour, which is why I packed them in.

 Jeez - I'd better book myself into Sunny Pines Home of Rest for the Terminally Befuddled now, rather than later, simmo! So he was. If ASDA has 10 people stacking by night, I really don't understand why the hell they're still all over the store by day as well! All supermarkets re-stock at night because it causes the least inconvenience to customers and to the staff doing the re-stocking, but clearly in ASDA's case, it's a matter of inconveniencing the customer by both night and day!

Checked out the stuff today - ( though how much they expect to sell in Poole is beyond me - its hardly surrounded w3ith horses round home!!)
I bought a £24 pair of Jod boots, the bodywarmers are really nice and only £17, there are fly sheets fpr £30 odd quid, which would normally sell for a fair bit more, and the hats ( normal, showing type hats) are all British Kitemarked, so have had to pass safety requirements. ( but I cant remember the number) they are £30 odd.

Good on Tesco, there is other stuff there too, but i cant be arsed to list it all, hope it sells well for them - am planning to try out my new boots in the morning....
