I've only see him get sentimental over two horses on the track - Big Buck's and Kauto.
 
I've gone a touch lower with my figures for the race.

I have More Of That running to 168 which is still a very smart rating for a stayer with the promise of more to come. Annie Power appears to have run about 8lbs short of her best but that might be down to stamina or racing too keenly early on, or both.

It still makes At Fishers Cross and Rule The World better than my previous best for them but Big Buck's has run some way below his Cleeve form. If he'd improved for that race he might have won. Maybe, as Ardross suggests, the Cleeve finished him?

This race was slower than the Pertemps.
 
Father time beat him in my opinion, not the Cleeve. He couldn't win the Cleeve, so winning the World Hurdle against More Of That and Annie was always going to be a stretch. He didn't travel in to the race far enough to suggest that the 'hard' race he had took its toll.

Time waits for no man, woman or beast.
