One of the great things about racing and betting is there is always something new to you forward to.
This coming Saturday at Aintree it's the Grand Sefton, a race I first heard of in my youth when reading things like Dick Francis's autobiography.
Resurrected in 2003, I rather like it.
The five-day confirmations are tomorrow and I shall wait for those, as I enjoy backing non runners about as much as I'd enjoy ever again wearing a shirt I'd lent to Walsworth.
But if I knew he was going to run the horse I'd be interested in at 16/1 is Thistle Ask.
This beast fairly hosed up at Wetherby on Friday, he's fit and seemingly on the upgrade.
Admittedly, he jumped right on occasions at the "A1 Venue" and he's twice had wind surgery but he's on the upgrade.
Venetia Williams November Groupies might be interested in Frero Banbou.
More from me on this contest on Monday.
