Sticking my neck out by doing the Captains job for him but he is slacking with only 2 of next weekends threads up yet.

Im looking at this and Woodhoh is installed as favourite but there has to be more than a chance she goes for a rematch with Lossie a week later in the Hattons grace and even if not is she that well handicapped in the mid 150's to warrant being such a short price ? Given that also this is not her Gold cup.

Celtic Dino also holds two entries but you'd have to think that off a mark of 144 they'd be tilting at windmills to take this one up to Gosforth for the Fighting fifth next week. Having beat Alexi with some ease in the Welsh champion giving 7lbs last time out and Alexi who's going to be in a range of the mid 140's himself after his last 2 wins I cant help but think Celtic Dino will be popular in the market and would at least deserve to be 2nd favourite to Woodhoh anyway. Looks for all the world as if the step up in trip will suit and the current 7/1 available could seem huge come the day. You could also add that if Sam Thomas thinks he's worthy of a Grd1 entry the week after then he certainly thinks he's better than a 144 rated animal.

I await the dressing down from the skipper.

Are you on the sponsor's payroll or something, Danny?

I refuse to name a firm who literally won't let me have a penny on with them on a point of general effing principle!

Apart from that, can't fault the thread title tbh.

You might recall that when I used to plaster General Racing Topics with race threads, I got hated on even more than usual and I actually had to go into hiding in Hertfordshire (and Walsworth found me the worst B&B in western Europe to lie low in).

But, yes, it's an intriguing little contest and kudos to you for setting the ball rolling with it.

It's 'Ladbroke' not 'Ladbrokes'. You're going to give the old bastard a stroke.
That's "oldER" bastard, not "old," if you don't mind.

No one gets to call me "old" until I'm drawing my f$%^ing pension and that's still five years away.

Your general point is well made, though.

Ladbrokes and Coral have a problem with their system. It allows you to open another account a few years after your previous one has been restricted to nothing. You might not get a good run on the account but you might get enough good bets on to win a few quid.

Thanks - that is definitely useful to know.

See they are my bogey account i dont think I've landed a decent blow on them since a Big bucks Big fella thanks double so that's how far it goes back. As such I can still freely throw as much at them as I like safe in the knowledge that no matter how much it looks like I have them on the ropes they seemingly dodge every bullet. It'd be of no surprise to see the first 3 in the betting withdrawn this go off at 7/4 and finish last such is my Ladbrokes hoodoo.

Jesus, it's a shocking race. Wodhooh could lap them.

I agree re shocking race not many suited by the trip and those that are aren't much good but do you really think she's that good ? And do you reckon she'd be primed fto ? Obviously if she's that good you think they'd go for the Hattons grace the week after.

Teahupoo is down to run at the Hattons Grace so this is starting to make sense. Why take on Lossiemouth straight away? Just go to Ascot and then take in a Champion Hurdle trial at Xmas.

Just realising one major oversight haha this isn't the handicap i thought it was haha scrub all of the above.

I now agree with Slim Wodhooh walks it.

My old man said very few words that were true or any use to anybody. One thing he did used to say to me is "Son the trouble with you is you open your mouth before you've put your brain in gear". That still rings fairly true but the thing is about blurting things out it at least gives other people the chance to point out that you're completely wrong and at the very least review the situation.

On doing this you can realise you're wrong and realise things like the terms Wodhooh gets to run off here should be more illegal than a UFSA price burglary. And all things being even unless ive made another Blinding Blooper she should be odds on.

It's already a cracking thread - you should have zero regrets IMO.

For those who like to take into account which races, historically, runners in the Ascot Hurdle have come from the last renewal of and how they've subsequently performed.
The Aintree Hurdle Stakes, in April, which Wodhooh was 2nd in, seems to be one of the most significant.

Take No Chances might interest me if declared on Thursday and a huge price.

There's better horses in the race, but at least you know she's fit and on top of her game.

Better over 3 mile Ian ? Got smashed by Wodooh and Lossie at Aintree amd may have race fitness and be in good order but she's worse of at the weights to boot. Its a big ask should all turn up I reckon.

I wouldn't dispute any of that and if Wodooh turns up as fit first time out as she was on her reappearance last season my beast won't see which way she went.

But, as we know, ess aitch one tee happens in this game and I might rather be on a fit and in-form animal at an each-way price than the best horse in the race first time up who's short.

I'll be wrong a lot more times than I'm right in this scenario, but when I am right....

And it wouldn't be the first time a Skelton horse that I don't think can win kicks me in the balls in recent times 🫩

I'm not gonna lie today's is definitely squeaky bum time for yours truly with todays decs with by my standards a very heavy Antepost involvement in Wodhooh and Celtic Dino. Fingers crossed I havent done my spuds without a run.

I haven't had a bet on the race yet, but, given this info, let's hope Wodooh and Celtic Dino are the only two declared.

Decs tracker opens at 8am.
