The 2025 Longshot Thread

Commanche Falls Stewards cup tomorrow 40/1 Ladbrokes
Has won this race twice in the past off higher handicap marks.
Is getting on a bit in years[aren't we all?🤣[, but retains ability and is an attractive each way price in a typically competitive contest.

I put it up on the Stewards cup thread. I'm on at 66s 7 places. We live in hope 🙂

Ardisia 4.20 Goodwood tomorrow 33/1
Has won twice this season over 5 furlongs.
Got no sort of run at all in the super sprint at Newbury and looks to hold an each way chance at huge odds in an open looking contest.
Followed you in on this one, 14s now, which boosts confidence a touch.

Celandine 25/1 jm jungle 33/1 3.05 Goodwood tomorrow
Celandine is lightly raced and open to improvement.will hopefully handle ground
JM jungle is a very progressive sprinter who is very consistent.
Steps up in class and should handle underfoot conditions.
Two each way singles.
Celandine is a non runner, but JM jungle has halved in price
Let's hope it's a good sign👍🏻

Golden Mile

Blue For You 40/1, 6 places. Might just have been the plan all year and can't not back it. As cliffs go, this is Mount Thor...

Gut punt - Fantastic Fox 33/1, 5 places.

Killybegs Warrior, in the last at Goodwood Tomorrow.
Some of his form in Bahrain looks quite strong ,with Snellen in particular boosting it.
He's really well in on his 3yo form. Trainer likes a winner here.
40s + 33s generally.

I'm another in the Cammanche Falls camp for the same reasons. I mentioned earlier in the season when it got beat that I felt this was the plan and I was never going to ignore it.

I've also backed Twilight Calls (50/1) and Vadream (33/1) for value longshots on their best form. I'm swithering about Desert Cop and will decide in the morning.

Thursday, 1.20 - Seagolazo 22/1, 5 places. Oisin Murphy could have been claimed by Balding for Best Adventure and could have been approached by Juddmonte for Calla Lagoon or possibly several others in the field but he rides Seagolazo for Hugo Palmer and is 13/29 (45%) for the trainer this season plus seven others in the first four.

Trainer and jockey team up to win with Seagulls Eleven. I thought Seagolazo was very unlucky in running yesterday with the gaps never appearing for him. I couldn't say it would have won with a clear run but I do think it is better than we saw and I'll be watching for this combo again.

JM jungle wins at 14/1
Couldn't believe the price yesterday.
Hope a few of you were on👍🏻

I switched instead to Kerdos with first time C/P...and ignored my tracker which was blatantly telling me to back JMJ

Galashiels 1.55 Goodwood.
Don't what plans Henderson has for him. May just keep him ticking over for a hurdling campaign.
That not the case. He had some high class form in France last season, including the scalp of Goliath. 25/1 may look big, if they're coming here with intent.
