The 2025 Royal Ascot Wednesday Thread

Ryan had ridden the winner twice previously; he knew what he was doing .
Quick going was the difference .
Winner's dam is a Juddmonte cast off that was rated in low 70s and sold for 25k as a 3yo in training.
Another bargain buy.
Yup.

Couldn't have LA on my mind today.

That really really hurts, I knew LA was very beatable over this course and distance the only danger to Anmaat was possibly the Frenchie, possibly having Crowley in the plate or possibly some twat leaving their previous form behind. The latter did me. Very upset.
Me too

I see Reynier has said Flavien Prat gave Facteur Cheval the worst ride ever given to one of his horses. I think he has a point if you want to get a doubtful stayer definitely to be beaten in a10f G1 that's the way to do it.

Also sounds like the booking was owner choice . Daft when Marquand was sitting in the weighing room .

Anyone who has ever been in charge of anyone, in any workplace, anywhere, ever, surely rolls their eyes about this sort of public admonishment, whether it's Gosden to Dettori or Shoemark, or this bloke to Prat, as opposed to a word behind closed doors.

It's just zero management skills.

Some of the public might enjoy these periodic ritual public humiliations, but I find it distasteful.

I'm not defending the ride, I'm just defending the jockey's right as an employee to be treated in an appropriate way by his employer.

Rip him a new one in private if you like, "get rid" once and for all even, if it's the final straw for you, but if you have a shred of quality you simply don't hang people out to dry in public - ever.

Sorry you just do not do this if you are any type of manager/business owner “praise in public” but “bollock in private” end of ☹️
