The 2025 Silver Cup Handicap Chase

I've had an each way nibble on Threeunderthrufive.

He's won and placed twice around this course all off higher marks. One of those was his third place in this very race last year behind Victtorino, giving a load of weight away that day he was. He'll have a pull at the weights with that horse this time around.

I think this being his second run after a wind operation might be viewed as a positive too. He ran well a few times after his first wind operation in June 2023. Hopefully he'll improve for his seasonal pipe opener at Wincanton.

Big race for me. I took 12s about Blow Your Wad when prices opened and put him in a double with Jordans Cross yesterday (a strategy I really like, if I have a tracker at 3s or shorter I always parlay them with either other horses or NBA/NFL future bets). I suppose Venetia's will be the danger.

I've no idea if it is an intended runner but I've taken 33/1 Doctor Ken, Olly Murphy's only entry. I suspect the mega handicap at Kempton in February is the more likely target but they could have got this one ready for that by running in any old Class 3 race off 133.

26 in this Class 1 3m feast at Ascot next Saturday and the weights have been out a while.

Five-day confirmations out on Monday.

Your Favourite Uncle Smart Arse is highly unlikely to be getting involved prior to Thursday's 48-hour declaration stage.

However, should the beast get that far, Pic Roc would have to be of interest.

YFUSA had 40/1 for the Coral Gold Cup and Pic Roc lost ten at the start.

It actually worked out well, as the Trifecta paid better without him in it, but he would surely have been runner up and can run off an unchanged mark here.

You and DO were both right about Pic Roc for the Coral and I was wrong as I couldn't see how it could get 3m 2f.so it has to be considered.

I've had a pound ew Ind'or 50/1 not worth any more.ex David Maxwell now with Fergal O'brien. 2nd run for him.

If Pic Roc turns up - and Ben Jones can see his way clear to actually jumping off with the rest of the field this time - they won't see which way the moral Coral Gold Cup runner up went from two out.

But I can wait, because we're not at home to Mr Ante Post Bet On A NR. #justbackfuckingrunners

At least with my ante post bet I have four places, I'm pleased about that. Hopefully a few more come out on Thursday and my horse is not one of them. 😂👍

That aside, it looks like a hell of an interesting betting race.

Pic Roc I'm afraid of, same with Henry's Friend although I can't see him running a week after the Cheltenham race. Can someone shed any light as to why Johnnywho isn't 16s+ - I can't see any form claim (second in a terrible Kim Muir, big deal) and he's handled by the most unreliable trainer in the game.

Johnnywho is very well handicapped. He was off once last season.
