The 2026 Morebattle Handicap Hurdle

Rated 113 , he wont get a lot for today, if anything.
Could easily run up a sequence after the Festival.

Yes, I didn't have the card in front of me when I said 120 in the context of the Imperial Cup and it might be the type that can win from not far out of the weights. I don't think the Sandown race has a history of maximum fields.

I've watched the race again paying particular attention to Quaviste. (During the race itself I was trying to keep an eye on Cracking Rhapsody as well.)

It was on the inside at the back until they turned into the back straight. I think Skelton then felt it wasn't worth the gamble trying to work his way up the inside and switched to the outside and made ground quite sweetly but then ended up swinging very wide on the turn for home. I'd love to know how much extra ground the horse covered but it still appeared to be going quite well.

It closed into a challenging position two out but I think the effort of going wide had cost it and Skelton wasn't too hard on it after that, given its inexperience and probably with another race in mind.

121 was 10-2 in last year's IC and the bottom weight was 5lbs wrong. In the Swinton 114 was off 10-5 so Quaviste could well get in there off 113 without being out of the weights. I think the Scottish Champion Hurdle top weight will be 10lbs higher than yesterday's so that race is probably out.
