The Best Sandwich

Bacon

Smoked bacon of good quality (streaky best for sandwiches). White bread from a good bakers, very lightly toasted. Quality butter (yeo valley for me) and some mustard

I used to love potato waffles mushed into sandwich when butter would melt, yum, might have to have one later for old times sake.
Years ago bread and sugar used to be big treat for kids in Ireland, have tried it and its very nice.
At the moment my fav is chicken mayo and sweetcorn in wrap, but baguette will do nicely too!

Everyone seems to be on diets.
I'm joining the bandwagon too  Off to Fat Fighters on Wednesday  Shall try to eat my own bodyweight in cake before then  [/b][/quote]
Yup, I'm back on the diet too....

Went to Pilates class last night and ache quite a bit this morning.... It won't help with any weight loss but it's so good for preventing back problems.

Honestly, whoever invented chocolate needs digging up and shooting all over again. Bastards..

I still have the odd Dripping on toast smoothered with salt and pepper.

Not so much as like you say its a treat. I love it.

Damn I'm hungry now after reading back through the previous posts.
Major important point, always must be proper butter, not fake butter, can't abide the stuff, feel same way about fake milk.

Dammitall, delboy! You've reminded me of my favourite bought sandwich of all time! Yes, the foot-long Italian meata-ball-a, with the same baguette - but I usually ask for just extra cheese and never mind the healthy stuff! Cor, it ain't 'alf tasty, Mum!
In work, and i would kill for a subway right now....

My fave everyday sandwich is toasted ham and cheese - gotta be good cheddar, strong, slightly melting [streaky bacon can do for the ham tho]

My fave luxury sandwhich is smoked salmon, with butter and black pepper and just a hint of lemon juice, on buttered wholemeal [unsalted butter is best]

I also love all those 'Indian' sarnies with a bit of salad - tandoori chicken or prawns etc

I love all those Italian sandwhiches - foccacia, ciabatta, etc - pref filled with grilled red pepper & aubergine and some nice goat's cheese. Don't like baguette sandwhiches - too jawbreaking and you can never fill them enough for the amount of bread!

Uhhh... the trick with a baguette (at home, anyway) is to use each side with equal amounts of nosh on it, Heads, like two open boats, rather than try to ram it into an unyielding jaw! Yummeeeee... one baguette, two loads of nosh! :teeth:
