The Cheltenham Festival 2025

If the same Kopek that won a few weeks ago turns up it wins, but only if its jumping takes another step forward imho.
I backed Marine Nationale when it won the Supreme from the unbeatable Facile Vega, and I will have a few quid on William Munny as on a strict form line through Kawaboomga it doesnt have a huge amount to find with Kopek and it would be very fitting if the O'Connell horse won the race named after Michael O'Sullivan.

On the bf ex Salvator Mundi gone for a walk, anyone no why ? William Munny seems popular ?
Salvato Mundi is probably on the slide as the Mullins team definitely prefer Kopek.
William Munny's chances were talked about by Barry O'Connell this morning on the Nick Luck show and he definitely thinks its in with a chance in the race, and he knows what it takes to win a Supreme.

Didn't Irancy beat him easily though ?

William Munny? Second to Workahead and then second to Kawaboomga, 7 lengths to make up on Workahead but hardly jumped a hurdle that day, too many mistakes against Kawaboomga when beaten under 3 lengths but his jumping was much more professional last time which makes me think he can at least get into the 3.

Thanks. It was Worrkahead who beat him.
In the pub watching football.

Whilst we're on this race. Does anyone think the Nicholls horse is a silly price at 150/1 ( bet 365 ) ?
Beaten only half a length by Joyeuse is what I'm looking at here. Also beat a subsequent 3 time winner since.

I think the price is more a reflection of the lack of strength in the British novices in comparison to the Irish.
FWIW I will be backing Joyeuse in the Mares Hurdle as I think its been a slow burner and its starting to come to the boil now, and I dont think Lossiemouth should be odds on.

My shortlist for the Supreme has two or three of the obvious ones and Tripoli Flyer. Going left handed with a tendency to jump to the right but at 18s / 20s generally I will probably take a chance. Apart from the expected response of “don’t” or a laughing emoji any views anyone?

I will throw another one in to the hat Gala Marceau 66/1, I read a piece about her. Mullins assistant trainer said they have had issues with her, but if they can be resolved she has the ability.

Trounced miami magic 7 lengths, miami magic rated 139.so for arguments sake gives him a rating around the 145 mark. The 3rd horse beaten 13 lenghts,so this theretocally backs up the 145 mark.so totally agree that Tripoli flyer is the value selection in the race at 20/1.

Couldn't agree more,explanation given above.

Davy Russell at Adare preview spoke of Kopek's "hot " nature.
He was a handful at Leopardstown before, during and after the race.
Davy advised waiting to see how the horse arrives at the start before having a bet.
William Munny was too keen in earlier races but has learned to settle with racing, according to Barry Connell,.
He will do me with the race connection .

But say Kopek does boil over, what about Romeo Coolio, do you think William Munny is better than him ?

Rarely does Barry Connell get as excited about a horse as much as he does William Munny, if excited is the correct word Alex.
Romeo has 7 lengths to find on WM from Punchestown Champion Bumper, not impossible I know.
My tipping is as accurate as my time keeping so keep that in mind at all times.
