The King George

Both second-season chasers last year, Hamm, so entitled to test them against each other to see where they were. One or other can take the Lexus based on all known form, and with FL proven on a flat track (Aintree) Gigginstown will hopefully let him loose at Kempton and aim for both races over Xmas.

We'll see. Main bet will be on Cue Card regardless.

Euro, I deffo saw a report over weekend which said AF may go straight to Kempton. Either way, he still has it to prove against some of the expected principals.

You've got the winner there Grassy, but are doing yourself out of £150 and the opportunity to take some cash off Betfred. 10/1 with him, and there should be one of his shops near you

Dual winner Long Run is one of 30 entries for the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

Nicky Henderson's charge won a rescheduled running of the Festive highlight early in 2011 and after chasing home legendary five-time King George winner Kauto Star in the race later that year, regained his crown last Christmas in a thrilling finish with Captain Chris.

Long Run blotted his copybook for the first time since arriving in Britain with a disappointing showing in last weekend's Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby, but subsequently scoped badly.

The eight-year-old is one of five possible runners for Henderson, with the Seven Barrows handler also leaving in Captain Conan, Finian's Rainbow, Riverside Theatre and Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Bobs Worth.

The latter has always appeared a unlikely to line up at Kempton, due to his preference for going left-handed.

Kauto Star's trainer Paul Nicholls has Al Ferof, Rolling Aces, Silviniaco Conti and Tidal Bay engaged.

Other contenders include Colin Tizzard's stable star Cue Card, Kim Bailey's Charlie Hall hero Harry Topper, Flemenstar, who recently joined Tony Martin and Willie Mullins' Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up Sir Des Champs.

Dynaste currently heads the market with Sky Bet at 9/2 ahead of Silviniaco Conti and Cue Card who are next at 6/1.

There's value in that market. I'm not that keen on the front two in the market, Mount Benbulben and Al Ferof are both interesting.

Shaping up for a belter. The likes of Dynaste and Cue Card must go well, but there are a good handful in with great chances.

An exciting season in store with an extended group of good horses able to take each other on. There should be decent prices to harvest this season.

The impregnable Sprinter Sacre aside that is.
