The Oaks

Winner was 7/2 to place on the machine all day but 18/1 1/4 odds 1,2,3. I'm a bit sick I didn't mug bet it.

Shortlisted by SteveM too in his dosage analysis.

Talent was a good winner (my fourth choice, relegated from third choice at the last minute) and one of those certain to stay (The Lark, third, was also toward the top of the table for stamina). Moth didn’t pick up as I expected. It looked to me like she came to win and couldn’t. She just reached the threshold of a 12 furlong horse in the table and in hindsight will probably be best back at 10 furlongs.

He has also tipped Ruler of the World (who I like for it) and Ocovango.

Ye gotta stay to win it. :-)

Good steady support for Ruler. Feeling quite confident about him. He'll outstay the good Guineas winner to be sure. Confidence ebbing for Ocovango. I think he'll be fine on the drying ground, but hope he's not buried by the draw.

New Approach is on fire. I was never a fan of him as a racehorse but he really is producing some good uns.

There can't be many stallions who have sired two different Classic winners in their first crop. If Newfangled hadn't met her untimely end he might just have had a clean sweep of English Classics so far.

Secret Gesture travelled very well through the race but was well held at the line and she may be best at 10f in something like the Nassau. Interestingly, she was eight lengths ahead of Miss You Too, who I think did give her running yesterday, as opposed to ten lengths (plus whatever you chose to add on for style of victory) at Lingfield.

Liber Nauticus was a disappointment. She looked a bit one-paced but the track might not have suited.

I had a decent bet on LN but also backed Talent who was actually a slightly bigger winner for me. Not aftertiming, either.
