The Oaks

great effort after that trouble in running plus a gruelling race for a possible non stayer.

Very smart performance and a brave one too.

Smart run from the Palmer filly too. With the winner having a troubled passage it would have been interesting if Frankie had gone a little sooner. Though clearly you want to see the best win.

Bar the winner I thought it was an absolutely shocking race -most of them didn't even look like racehorses in the final furlong.

Rather like Ouija Board's Oaks - far from Moore's finest hour and the filly got him out of it - not for nothing did Lester say you always want to be two off the rails coming round Tattenham Corner .

Imo the 2nd was grossly flattered by her proximity, and will likely be way overbet n.t.o. For me, the winner danced the through the field 2 out, but was running on fumes in the closing stages.

Really? I thought it was the one part of the race where she hit top gear, having finally been straightened up and asked to move forward and nail the leader.

She stayed very well and was completely on top at the end . It is odd really how Coolmore like to pretend sometimes that their 1m 4f horses only just got the trip . I reckon she would stay the Leger trip if they asked her !

It was class - rather than stamina - that got her through. How else would you explain a less than 2l beating of a horse rated 22lbs lower?

Moore said she stayed the trip well after the race . I suspect on better ground and with a better ride she would have won very easily yesterday . The runner up improved a lot on Lingfield as shown by the fact that she beat Seventh heaven out of sight .
