The Sandwich Thread

Wholemeal brown bread
Chicken and pesto
Homemade stuffing
Dubliner cheese
Skimming of mayonnaise
Salt and pepper

Lyons tea. Mug of. Milk.

and we dont want the ladies here fantisising about a Luke Harvey/Mick Easterby sandwich either

lets keep it clean

Classic sandwiches can be the best

But to perfect it

Sour dough bread (Gails is good)
Egg mayonaise (but use Clarence court Cotswold legbar eggs)
Cress and plenty of it

Jacksons tea is the best

Also do like flaked smoked mackeral, sliced hardbolied egg, mayo and rocket

(i cant have pesto with wholemeal bread...all wrong imo)

Aha... type of egg. They are very very golden yellow. Burford Browns are good too

Odd im saying this cos i dont actually eat eggs a lot

Can make own mayo if arsed, but a good one will suffice. Depends on taste. Nothing wrong with Helmans i find

Toasted white bread (good quality) but left to cool
Proper butter
Healthy spread of Marmite on each slice
Sliced cucumber
Sliced pickled baby beetroor

or

Toasted white - again left to cool
Butter
Scrambled eggs (cotswold legbar/burford browns - pref purchased at waitrose!)
ketchup to taste

mmmmmmmm

Pregnant?

ballydoyle....u know those eggs well...!

waitrose it is...or wholefoods:)

but first sandwich sounds vile

Nope not pregnant -its actually a very heathly sandwich according to a nutrionist I once knew!

How many of you put your scrambled eggs on top of the toast then lift to eat?!

Clivex - yes since I found out we (work for JL/WTR!) those blue eggs nothing else is allowed in the house, have even got my 92yr old nan to eat them (but not taught her to suck them yet lol)

Thick White Batch
Scape of mayo
Proper chicken breast sliced
White Cheddar
Diced white onion

All toasted, with a cup of scald on the side.

Diced Chicken and peppers

Me too, Monty - though I always have it with mayo. Red or Green peppers (I'm a red man myself)?

Not sure I agree with poncey bread for a sarnie. Has to be white bread for me, preferably Plain (not certain anyone but a fellow Sweaty will know what that is, but one end has a light-brown soft crust and the other a dark-brown hard-crust with no edge-crusts). Don't get me wrong; poncey breads have their place - just not in a sarnie.

I could also hammer you all in a crisp-sandwich-eating contest. I would be a 1/100 shot. It's amazing how I keep this Californian hard-body together, sometimes.

I cant stand crisps and have never finished a bag. I know its unusual but there you go... Overall i think potatoes are a bit of a waste of time anyway

But peanut butter...

love the stuff. Has to be a good brand and the american ones stand out . Skippy is my fav and Jif too. Theres also a pure peanut one (no oil etc) whos name escapes me, which is special. M&S own brand is very good too

no ones nemtioned the classic bacon sandwich? Plain white bread. Faily thin. Good quality bacon, smoked for me. FAirly well done and mustard essential

I might try a bacon sarnie with mustard. I always have brown HP sauce on a bacon sarnie. Ketchup in a bacon sarnie is the Devil's work.

As is not eating crisps. F*cking weirdo. :D

My fav sandwich would have to be simply a few slabs of red leicester cheese in a buttered french bred. Love red leicester, good for sprinkling on pasta too if theres no palma about.

Also, red Leicester melted on bread to create welsh rabbit, lovely jubbly.

I think I may come back as a square of red leicester in my next life, I won't mind, as long as I get eaten by a women:)

bacon and anchovies in thick, fresh white bread with proper butter.... toss up between marmite, tomato ketchup or brown sauce depending on the mood.

YUM

Two slices of white bread toasted and buttered (Warburtons is fine.)
Hard boiled egg
Marmalade

Known in my family as the 'Borstal Sandwich'

Nothing comes close.
