The Tingle Creeek

His second to Kid Cassidy giving him 10lbs and his Celebration Chase win against some fairly solid markers give him what I would describe as a joint favourites chance (with Somersby).

I'd have Captain Conan behind both of those in the betting.

Its a pity none of the Irish didn't enter, looking at the decs, it could have been a lovely swansong for Sizing Europe. To be honest apart from some novices Im a bit underwhelmed by NH season so far , maybe the next couple of weeks will relight the fire.

jockey error the last day. burnt him out chasing down a favourite that would have definitely come back to the field toward the end anyway. was a sitting duck for mccoy.

his win over finians rainbow here at the backend of last season is decent form. he's a worthy enough favourite for me.

Agree with this, entirely.
SDG travelled all over the field, but even the 3rd (whom he'd easily dismissed earlier) was coming back at the finish. He's better than that, imo, and no reason why he shouldn't show it Saturday.

Sire De Grugy looks nailed on just on the Kid Cassidy form..very smart time by the winner..giving 10lb was an immense effort. His jumping is the only ? and stops me having a decent bet

i'll just watch..but with a decent round i think SDG will take this comfy...CC not in same league imo

Very good ride and a game effort. Somersby ran well but 2 miles is just too short for him nowadays and a mistake at the Pond fence did for him.

One has to wonder whether Henderson missed a trick by not running Kid Cassidy.

Moore has a strange riding style. His centre of gravity seems further back than other jockeys'. Doesn't seem to inconvenience them though.

I thought he won it when he checked SDG's stride approaching the second last and then rode it confidently for a good jump. That allowed the horse to meet the fence bang on and gain momentum away from it.

Jamie Moore is fab, it's so lovely seeing him win a deserved high profile race.

Good race though, different than it might have been.

He had the race won at every stage, and wasn't asked a question until disposing of Captain Conan in half-a-dozen strides after the 2nd last. That Somersby was able to close him down slightly on the run-in was a result of his barely seeing out the 2m trip.
His trainer reiterated that he would avoid Cheltenham in future, and his previous defeats at the course are directly attributable to his lack of stamina, as he would have won both - had he lasted up the finishing hill. It's no coincidence his future targets are likely to be in France, where softer ground, flatter courses and steadier pace are all likely to be in his favour.

Don't quite agree reet. Not many horses hit the front at sandown and completely pull away and also he's won at Chepstow in heavy going by 11 lengths

And Moore said his Cheltenham defeats are down to he nature of he course and the fences. Just doesnt suit him

I thought he was a helluva good bet yesterday but well pleased for Moore. A trainer I really like and felt like a properly local win too

Watch the replays of his Cheltenham races, Clive - he likes everywhere bar the last half furlong or so.
