The Will Win Thread

He's hit 3 out his last 4 at decent prices, let the results speak for themselves.

A strongest-bets thread can’t be justified by cherry-picked results after the fact.

That logic would allow unlimited bets and zero discipline.

It's up to each induvidual surely how confident they feel about a bet ?

If Reets got the balls to put one up every day fair play to him, from what I've seen over the term he has as healthier strike rate as anyone else on here. Hope that continues for him going forward.

I know when i was into the game properly i was confident about nearly everything i bet and just thought i had to be unlucky to lose.

I'm more of a "Wrong Price" than "Will Win" sort of punter, but I read this thread with great interest and I do sometimes think that, win or lose, some of the bets put up here don't always fit the profile for what I think this thread was originally intended for by Slim.

How many proper strong bets can a punter find in a month or a year?

Depends how good they are and how much time they put in. I once knew a lad who landed 9 maximum bets in a row on the old Southwell track in the space of a couple of months and not short prices either.

Depends on one's definition of "proper strong bets", surely?

That, in turn, might depend on how much time they put into studying day in, day out, and how good they are at it.

I reckon if reet feels strongly enough to put one on this thread as often as three or four times a week he should be respected for his contributions and willingness to share the fruits of his labours.

It's up to other to follow him in or not.

Edit - putting one's head above the parapet on such a focused thread as this does require a strong degree of intestinal fortitude, as does effectively pitting one's wits against (or alongside) an industry insider.

The forum should consider itself blessed to have two such strong-minded contributors to the one thread.

It's the punters I'm thinking of here. You've a morale obligation not to just put up anything on a thread like this.

Whilst it's headed "The Will Win Thread" I've always viewed it as a thread where Slim put up same but if (eg Reet) puts one up I'm happy to consider it.

All that said I can see Slim's issue given that imo it's his thread.

I don't think reet is just putting up anything, though. He strikes me as the type who takes his studying seriously - he has often posted on here i the middle of the night - and his gut/figures will be telling him which ones he feels most strongly about.

Maybe we should have two threads?

1. "Slim's Will Win (and every body else fvck off) Thread
2. "The Will Win Thread for Lesser Mortals"

Me I don't follow anyones bets unless they coincide with my own opinion.

But I thought when you came on this thread you were supposed to starting chanting , "slim , slim, slim", first as a low murmur but gradually increasing in volume....
