The Will Win Thread

Yes.

There's nothing worse than people sniggering and commentating from the sidelines while others share.

We don't want this place turning into Facebook either.

E.G hundreds and thousands of dodgy lurkers who log in but never participate or share, but if they do, it's only to take a swipe at those that do.

Sharing is caring I say.

If you've never got anything to share or say by the way, then that's fine, but be consistent.

Don't just log in to have a dig.

I'm in broad agreement. I don't know if Robski's comment was about this thread or more general.

My reply was a general one.

Everybody who's been on here for long enough knows that when Slim tells people to get off his f$%^ing thread it's a leitmotif.

But elsewhere if someone tells someone to f%*& off / go f%*& themselves / etc it crosses a line.

I guarantee that nobody who told me in real life to my face to go f%*& myself would walk away from the situation.

And this is my constant lament about this forum. Too many people think their anonymity gives them licence to act like ignorant arseholes. I think it detracts from what is patently the best racing forum in existence.

Yeah I understand the friendly banter point that Ian and yourself make.

As you alude to though, there's also been plenty of examples of where comments have been made recently that were interpreted as the complete opposite of that.

I'm not the forum police, I've posted for 20 years on three different forums, this one, The Racing Forum and Neigh Forum before that, and made many mistakes along the way, and definitely upset people and said things I've later regretted. The only consolation is that others have insulted me along the way too.

But I say again, generally speaking, sharing is caring.

We all have different levels of expertise, whether we just consider ourselves horse racing fans and gambling addicts like myself (that's a joke btw), or others, who have worked in the media industry or trained horses, or whatever else.

We've all got the fundamental interest for horse racing in common, and that should unite us along any turbulent paths.

Now can someone please post a friggin winner please!
