Valentines Day

:luv: As Mr GG will go to work before I wake up tomorrow, I'm out all day and will not see him until tomorrow night we've exchanged cards tonight. I always ask him to write poetry in mine, but it has to be something he made up himself. He's written "I love you more than words can ever say, except possibly 'lots and lots'!"   At least he tried  He also gave me a box of organic chocolates and a dozen red roses :D

It's whacking down here at present, Kathy, and I'm afraid the forecast for tomorrow is umbrellas and macs, too. Never mind, get a couple of good-priced winners under your belts and have a lovely lunch in the restaurant, without getting wet, and you'll enjoy your day! Have fun, Valentiners!

Ahhh... that was actually aimed at Colin taking on Troodles and me, dear heart, but now that you mention it.... Troods? Let's go! :luv:

I've just found a card from my extremely gay (male) neighbour opposite... typical! The only Valentine I get in decades, and it's safe as houses.

I got a nice card and a promise that we can be close to REALY NAUGHTY at Lingfield this afternoon.

For anyone that doesn't know, that's the name (mispelt by an Irishman, evidently) of one of Brendan Powell's runners at Leafy Lingers this afternoon. :D

I got a phone call and a promise....

As I've got laryngitis and could hardly speak, he's really happy because that means he gets peace and quiet for a while as well !

What more could a bloke ask for ?:P

Thank God he didn't mention another of Brendans runners Wheelavit not sure my stomach could take it this early in the morning........

:)

He didn't mention it, Steve.... but there is still plenty of time. :suspect: Hopefully, you have had your breakfast by now.

Hope you feel better later, Songsheet.

A Valentine's day comment from an Italian-American friend:

"My heart belongs to one woman ... but don't worry.

I've got sperm for the rest of them."

Hope you've got a Boyles account Purr - they've cottoned onto the ol' Lily Brien box of chocolates routine this year!!! :D

(before anyone asks, it's a barely used account, hence why it's still open.....)

Which is more than you could say for the box of chocs that has probably long since been opened, devoured and disposed of..... :P

Valentines Day in the CF household was exciting for about 10 seconds when, upon returning home, I saw mail in the box. Closer inspection revealed the delivery to be no more than a phone bill. Even closer inspection (I opened said bill) totally blew the day to pieces when I saw a charge of £120, largely run up by a short-term lodger upon whom I had taken pity (she had an alcoholic thug of a father-in-law) and was allowing to stay in my flat for a peppercorn rent.

I am a fool for doing it but I keep on trusting all human-kind I meet as being genuine until I am proven otherwise, but sometimes it's really hard.

Nooo! Paddy Power were mean this year and I didn't even get a card! I should transfer my account forthwith...

On the other hand I did get a card from a real person, plus I am getting a three course Italian meal with wine tonight and I've already had some champers, so I should just count myself lucky already really :)

I'M TUCKING INTO SOMETHING... LATER...... :P But I may end up with an HOT ARSE myself.............. :P :D

I made a beef Madras curry with Basmati rice, nam bread and lime pickle, earlier, depends really?? but sometimes better than sex!!

And a few Guinness to wash it down :)

Actually CF, the box hasn't been opened yet!!! All four (!!!) chocolates are still inside - and the first thing I did was offer them to my ma (who gave the right answer of "oh no dear, you keep them"....)

Boyles???

The ironic thing is that I'd guess that only around 30% of the "women" they sent boxes of chocolates to were actually female.....
