Man A was given a €150 voucher to the Merrion Hotel 15 months ago.

Man B spoke to Man A last week, and mentioned that Man B and his wife were going to stay in the Merrion for a night that Saturday.

Man A mentioned his voucher. Man B said sure I will pick it up off you on Saturday morning, save you having to hold on to it.

Man A agreed. Man B gave Man A €150 for the voucher.

Man B's wife left the voucher at home.

Should Man B hold on to the voucher, or give it back to Man A and expect cash in return?

I think Man A is done for cash and probably has it spent already. Man B should just keep the voucher.

Man A should really only have asked for E100 in the first place, but Man B obviously has to pay the E25 'My wife is a dozy bint' tax.

MAN A should offer E125 in exchange for the return of his E150 voucher. Man B should accept this, and mark the E25 loss down to a combination of his wife's forgetfulness and Man A's parsimony.
