Weapons of Mass Destruction – Lucky 15s v Yankees

If makes you feel good to spend a pound to save a penny, go to it. Whatever floats your boat.

I always think those who do as a livelihood what they would otherwise do as a hobby have a good deal. Their only problem is that you can pick up and put down a hobby as the fancy takes you, but you’ve got to keep at it if it’s your livelihood.

Some great perspective on this thread.

I think Slim said "making forums great again"

Joking aside I think not only has the forum been a bit more active recently but I also think we've got a really decent bunch starting to form here. And dare I say it there's been no real arguments or mud slinging for a while. Perhaps it was Maurice all along ! And of course we're all missing Tanlic the NH season will not be the same without him. I might take up the role of weekly Constitution Hill posts this year in his honour.

Where has Dessie disappeared to.

Thinking he was having a bad spell punting so taking a break the impression I got from the forum. Either that or he really has retired from the game this time.

As many know, I consider myself one of the western world's leading See You Next Tuesdays and I consider Constitution Hill one of my all-time greatest vehicles for my despicable behaviour underlining the point and illustrating this.

Within 24 hours of him winning the Supreme, I started a thread on another forum, declaring him the best winner of the race since Golden Cygnet and a moral certainty to not only win the Champion Hurdle, but be the best Champion Hurdler since Istabraq and maybe even Night Nurse.

I even got all the 3/1 I could - a very unusual ante-post bet for me

He didn't let me down.

But then the disgraceful volte face.

Bookies started pricing up how many more Champion Hurdles he would win and made "None" the rag at as big as 12/1.

They obviously didn't expect to lay it, but it was just too big, I took it, had a gutless saver on one more at 7/2 and have been against the horse ever since.

I want paying out, so the sooner they accept he's gone at the game and retire him the better.

I think this forum is now the best racing/betting forum I've ever been on and Slim is a big part of why that is.

There are some really great people on The Racing Forum, but when their version of Chit Chat (The Lounge) is the best part of it (which I thought it was) it tells you all you need to know about the quality of the racing - and especially betting - debate.

This forum is simply a 1981 St Leger winner (Cut Above).

That said, it's not a competition and all that really matters is that this forum is flying - which IMO it is.

This is the forum it always promised to be - massively entertaining and informative

I think Dessie is on an extended break in Spain. Slim is mental, but he’s happy to settle for us. Ian is a total star. I would like to see grasshopper come back. He’d love the new look. Danny - great to see you more regularly.

And to all absentees, there’s no point sulking, just because you didn’t get your own way.

I wonder if you'd better off managing all the bets yourself and betting on the exchange at bsp?

I'm really enjoying formulating ideas on this forum. Thanks to all of you for engaging.

Quote - "the real work is cutting out all the bullshit on podcasts and X"

Quote - "Betting has always had its misconception economy. Dont buy into it. Dont repeat cliches you have heard in the pub or on a forum".

If only they would listen mate !!!!!!!!
There are far more knowledgeable people on this forum and out there in this betting world of ours than you will ever find on a podcast or X or Youtube.

Ignore them all and do your own thing !!

Some bet (and must win) because it’s their livelihood
Some bet and dream of winning, but won’t put in the hard yards.
Some bet and like to win because it’s a vindication of their judgement
Some bet just because it adds a piquancy to their enjoyment of racing
Some are happy with their catapult and couldn’t give a toss about weapons of mass destruction.

Takes all sorts.

Firstly can I sue for explaining i was wrong on another public platform ?

Joking aside, I was surprised at your findings, but ive accepted them and will take that forward into my own future multiples and will be binning off the yankee in favour of the Lucky 15. So thanks back to you, as advice from someone whos been there and done it for real is invaluable and you've never really had much reason to pass on the things you've learned from the many bloody noses you've received so fair play to you Slim.

Hopefully the forum continues on its current trajectory.

It's fun to have to prove what I believe to be an obvious truth from losing money.

Absolute f$%^ing drivel.

I don’t see why

Because it’s absolute drivel. Everyone knows punters bet for different reasons — dressing it up like wisdom adds nothing. I deal in data and experience. Four sims on Lucky 15s v Yankees show what actually matters. That’s the difference.
