My mother was a school nurse on the Manor for donkeys' years and then worked at the Health Centre at Manor Top. She had a fund of stories, some hilarious, some pretty sad.

Used to work on the Manor Estate (part-time whilst at Uni).

First day the armed Police were out trying to get a 13yo girl with a knife down from on top of the Post Office (about 20 yards from where I worked) whilst 3 of her mates were locked up in the back of the Police van.
