What Are You Listening To Now?

Justin Timberlake    bought the album yesterday for like 32 in the sales...its not that bad actually...

To celebrate Cork being named European capital of Culture for 2005, we should all be listening to this:

How oft do my thoughts in their fancy take flight
To the home of my childhood away,
To the days when each patriot's vision seem'd bright
Ere I dreamed that those joys should decay.
When my heart was as light as the wild winds that blow
Down the Mardyke through each elm tree,
Where I sported and play'd 'neath each green leafy shade
On the banks of my own lovely Lee.

And then in the springtime of laughter and song
Can I ever forget the sweet hours?
With the friends of my youth as we rambled along
'Mongst the green mossy banks and wild flowers.
Then too, when the evening sun's sinking to rest
Sheds its golden light over the sea
The maid with her lover the wild daisies pressed
On the banks of my own lovely Lee
The maid with her lover the wild daisies pressed
On the banks of my own lovely Lee

'Tis a beautiful land this dear isle of song
Its gems shed their light to the world
And her faithful sons bore thro' ages of wrong,
The standard St. Patrick unfurled.
Oh! would I were there with the friends I love best
And my fond bosom's partner with me
We'd roam thy banks over, and when weary we'd rest
By thy waters, my own lovely Lee,
We'd roam thy banks over, and when weary we'd rest
By thy waters, my own lovely Lee,

Oh what joys should be mine ere this life should decline
To seek shells on thy sea-girdled shore.
While the steel-feathered eagle, oft splashing the brine
Brings longing for freedom once more.
Oh all that on earth I wish for or crave
Is that my last crimson drop be for thee,
To moisten the grass of my forefathers' grave
On the banks of my own lovely Lee
To moisten the grass of my forefathers' grave
On the banks of my own lovely Lee.

it was like £2 and it was an recommended album by Q magazine. Seriously, im pleasently surprised, even though im nto into that type of music at all. Couple of duff tracks but the singles do stand out.

Ok, fair enough.....you're let off this time!!!!

Just found that some angel has put VH2 on one of our decoders...great stuff...had some Razorlight, Franz Ferdinand, Ash & one of my old favourites, Suede's Animal Nitrate, hadn't heard it for ages.

Dean Friedman :shy: :shy:
I'm rather fond a delightful little ditty by the name of "The Bastard Son Of Dean Friedman" by Half Man Half Biscuit.

To Merlin,

Go and give him a hand to do her in.

i like suede, shame that bernard butler went his own way..B Anderson is suppose to have his own album soon.

Do you like McAlmont & Butler, Will? Butler, is, as you probably know, Bernard Butler of Suede. I saw McAlmont & Butler live about 2-3 years ago & they were absolutely fantastic; they put on a very good show live. I've got one of their albums too, can't remember the name of it but it's very good.

I've got Keane - Hopes & Fears on at the moment.

I watched a few of the presentations by John Travolta on telly today, about the world's favourite 100 songs in films or summat like owt.

Anyway, it's true - "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" sung by Judy Garland, is immensely sweet and moving. "Where pretty little blue birds fly... oh, why, oh, why, can't I?" - and the dear little dog Toto held out his paw to her. Instant snuffles from me.

Try Israel Kamakawiwo`ole's version, Jon....it's very moving. I try to ignore the Judy Garland version...

Ha Ha , another half man half biscuit fan on the forum  Personally I love their Trumpton song
" I'm so high when I'm the pilot of a plane landing into trumpton with a cargo of cocaine "

Nice for you....working early??!!! Could be worse....I've been struggling to stay awake all night....

Oh, & I've now got Embrace - Fireworks playing...
