I watched the final of portrait artist of the year tonight.
3 artists painting a portrait of Brian Cox.
The one he picked was brilliant but when the judges picked the winner,imo the worse one won.
I don't think the judges know what they are on about.

Watched the film Train Dreams ( Netfix ) the other day. Stunning portrait of a man stoic a tree fella trying to get some kind of life, in a very harsh environment

Don't tend to watch much T.V but just binge watched The beast in me on Netflix would thoroughly recommend it.

Watching House Of Guinness but will get round to this afterwards.

How he's got away with 50 months rather than life can only be simply down to money. The juror interviews were shocking. Don't think its over though so with any luck there is more time on its way.

Totally stumbles across a film I've wanted to rewatch for years:

The Count of Monte Cristo, the Jim Caviezel version

It's on Chanel 32 just now but halfway through.

I have the DVD somewhere but it's in a box in the garage.

Apart from the fact that it's a damned good version of the story, I like it because I know it was filmed in Bray and some of the beach scenes were done at the Silver Strand, a pay-to-enter beach south of Wicklow Town that I used to frequent when I holidayed there as a teenager with the boys' club.

So many fond memories.

(And I've never forgotten Brenda.)

Currently watching The Bishops Wife ( which you introduced me to) as I couldn’t find anything Christmas’y. I did have it recorded but had to clear my recordings to make way for the racing but thankfully it’s on utube.

Nothing Christmassy? But the number 1 Christmas film Die Hard (the original) is on! Yippee Kay Yay MF and all that (or was that the second one?)

There is actually a pointer called Yippee Kay Yay and he's quite good. I have failed sadly to get the course commentator to add the MF on to the end of his name during a race which is a true shame....
