(Sorry if elsewhere but)

Punter has £5 accumulator going on Envoi Allen tomorrow. So far the following have gone in:
Golden Horde (Commonwealth Cup) 12-1
Hello Youmzain (Diamond Jubilee) 10-1
Shishkin (Arkle) 4-1
Bob Olinger (Ballymore) 25-1
He’s got Envoi Allen at 9-2.
Cash out and he’d get £275k or if Envoi Allen wins it’s £511k

What would you do?

quite simple, if 275k isnt going to make much difference to his life then let it run because it's a good 60k short of what the offer should be on pure mathematical terms

but to most mere mortals you'd have to take it. personally id take the offer then lump a fair amount of it on envoi as a sort of emotional hedge

Id cash.

He’s loving the attention though. If he was going to cash I’d guess he’d have done it quietly. Fact this is public he’s probably hoping for a shoutout on ITV and not cashing.

Either way he’s talked about. ‘Wow what a bet’ or if god forbid Envoi loses, he’s probably wheeled out on TV shows as the unlucky loser.

Depends on his circumstances.if hes wealthy let it ride if hes like me then cash out.whatever he does could be wrong.
I cashed out for £800 with 3 to go and cost me 3 grand .

You're right it depends on his circumstances. Personally I'd let the bet run, but lay Envoi myself to win £20/£30k and then have a blow-out holiday of two if he lost

Cashing out isn't a problem as long as the price is right -I'd say the offer will increase to 325K in the morning -that would be fair enough.

Cash out, get drunk, panic I'd made a terrible decision, have £275k - the nights drinks back on, wake up in the morning full of self loathing and cash out and spend the rest of my life wondering what was wrong with me.

If it was on the Millionaire, you have used a friend, you've asked the audience and you are now left with 50-50. Absolute no brainer....you don't know the answer, you take the money....after all, everyone knows now, so he will look like a right fool if it goes down, on the contrary, if it were to come up and he took the money, people would be sympathetic!

Cash out especially after watching the certainty that was Monkfish blunder his way round yesterday

He’s partially cashed.

Has 300k Envoi vs 250k rest of the field. Smart choice

that is smart cos he's essentially taken the original offer and put 25k of it on envoi at evens when he's a 4/9 shot (that should really be 1/3)

It isn’t a smart move effectively he has laid 300K Envoi at a little over 4/6-he has sold himself short by 20-40K.

what's the alternative though? let it run? as i said earlier that's the best choice in a pure maths sense but who amongst us would turn down a guaranteed 250k+? it's a life changing amount for most people and he's essentially squeezed a bit more value out of the original offer.

He seems to be doing ok, he’s already got nearly 21 grand in his account looking at the screen shot of it!

The alternative is wait for an improved offer.
