Very high emoticon to sentence ratio there!

Truck drivers, Lorry drivers.... potato, fv<k the american version.

I can't believe the low marks for white van drivers . I was cut up by three on the way to Manchester today

Tut tut

Colin do you seriously thinkthat the E Dead Group would be seen dead in a white van ?

In Australia:

* Young male drivers, on their provincial licenses.

* Males, over the age of 30 in their Holden Commodores and Ford Falcons, intimidating young learner drivers and provincial licensed drivers.

* Old people. Why are people over the age of 70 seriously allowed to drive? They are extremely dangerous to all concerned. The problem is they are over cautious, and will do many kilometres below the limit. My neighbour was doing 100km in a 110km zone over the Christmas holiday period, up ahead and around the corner was an old couple in their 80's doing 70km in this 110km zone. My neighbour unfortunately hit them. They got off scott free.

* Taxi drivers - willing to drive like idiots to get their moneys worth, taking both their life, their passengers life and the rest of the world's lives in to their hands. Funny thing, majority are Asian and do not speak a word of English. Great really when you are totally drunk and they don't know where to go :brows:

One thing that irks me a great deal is when your behind someone and they brake....slow down...speed up again....brake...THEN indicate. Selfish and incompetent, a deadly mix.

Under the instruction of a truck driver ;-

The most important things we have in this country are trucks yet nobody gives it a second's thought.

Whoever votes for truck drivers is a dick because that very computer they used to vote was once on the back of a truck.
They're not the most important. They're an enforced inconvenience but the whole isuue of how we should freight goods up and down the country is probably worth a thread on its own, though I'd worry it would be snarled up by truck drivers.

Of course, if we had a modern well run railway we could transport a lot more goods via freight.

We are gradually getting there on the WCML, but the problem with freight at the moment is the rolling stock is crap. De-railments are relatively common and more fright on the network now would just increase delays for passenger services.

I also think more lorry journeys should take place from 2200-0500.

Big freight should go by night, and we should - she shrieks at the top of her voice - BE MAKING USE OF OUR CANALS AND WATERWAYS! They used to be a perfectly decent method for transporting things that didn't need to be somewhere in a hurry. And there's so much this isn't in a rush - dry goods, white goods, furniture, soft furnishings, etc. - they're not going to perish or degrade in a week, so why not have them glide gracefully along a well-made, purpose-built network? We should build more of them, too.
