Word for a horse

In the early 80's I was working as a chef at The Royal Lancaster Hotel, London and we had a big Do on for a group of Arab Sheikhs and their families. I was doing the night shift on my own and a Sheikh came in he kitchen about 2am with his body guard and ask for food. Thinking I'll get I nice tip out of it, I couldn't do enough for him. After handing the food over to his bodyguard, the sheikh said,

"You like horses"
"Yes" I said
"New Attitude running Saturday, Greville Starkey ride, It win."

quickly wrote it down and told my father-in-law who was running Putney snooker hall at the time and liked a bet. Anyway we had to wait for the following Saturday and the father-in-law convinced me to take £100 out of my savings which he matched and we had £100 e/way at 14/1 in Ladbrokes in Batersea High street - told all the snooker hall and the locals.

It won by 2L I think beating an odds-on shot - took the Mrs to Tenerife for 2 weeks and didn't have to pay for a drink for a month in the local.

The truth though, I was shi**ing myself during the commentary.
