York Ebor meeting

I see W P Mullins has Jack Kennedy booked to take 7lb off Wicklow Brave in Ebor.
A top claimer that can do a Sesetta/ Gary Carroll job and used to crowded hurdle fields.

Dettori booked for Clondaw Warrior (Quest For More a NR)

If the gold Cup at Ascot had been a handicap Mizzou would have gone into my tracker. He didn't settle yet still finished within four lengths of the winner. I worry that he's a hold up horse given the patter of results this week (maybe Cumani will emply different tactics) but I like his freshness in the race compared to the likes of Big Orange and Clever Cookie (can't help that he was off the bridle after a furlong in the King George) and 6/1 is very fair, two miles is his trip.

I can't resist Muthmir in the Nunthorpe, especially given the boffo each way terms.

Backed Nearly Caught last week so hope the trainers right [although have backed Fun Mac as well].

Let's hope for good runs with them. Morrison watch brings us Vent De Force (2:30) today...

Pearl Castle is interesting at a big price in the first today Moe, a CD winner and now switched stables to a trainer who knows the time of day.

Does anyone understand why Stepper Point, last year's runner up, is 25/1 and Mecca's Angel only 8/1 for the Nunthorpe? They both ran at the Curragh last time out, under the same terms as today, and Stepper Point grabbed the rail and fended off Mecca's by a neck. Stepper is drawn 20 of 20 today, so again will have a rail to help if his jockey wants it.

Surely he's an interesting place/ew bet or have I missed something?

The ground was riding a lot quicker than had earlier been predicted that day Grey, hence they were marginally under standard time, which would have suited the Muir horse much more but whether Stepper Point should be 3 x the price is highly debatable.

FWIW with the softening ground I've deserted the jolly in favor of Muthmir as everything looks set to suit and both trainer and jockey are at the top of their game right now.

Chancery, Short Squeeze and Clever Cookie make up my quartet of bets for the day.

Bossy guest, decent form in the book, Mick Channon sent it a long way up and SDS on top. ABou ttime this one got it's head in front.

In the Maiden, I like Johnston's at 16s, his always come on for the run and each way is a good price.

Apologies Col, yes, Star of Lombardy. Johnston has another horse out of cape cross that was a similar type - winner second time out three weeks ago - Caledonia something I think.

Worth an each way crack in my view.

Nice, very nice, Suny. Well done fella! :)

I've been impressed as ever with York and this meeting, despite not being able to find to many winners, and I'm planning to go next year for sure.

I think I'm going to chose Arab Dawn in the Ebor, it's last chance saloon for myself and Morrison watch! :)

Nice one, Suny.

Mondialiste (Strensall) was a revelation when allowed to bowl latest, and his 10l win looks solid on both form and time. The extra furlong should be a bonus, and Danny Tudhope will know the required fractions better than most.

Well done Suny.

Mondialiste strikes me as the main danger in the opener but I think Top Notch Tonto is over priced at 7s. He's more exposed than most of these but his course and distance form suggests 10f might be his trip nowadays.

I'm at York now with the Meccas Angel cash to burn (thanks Suny I had this one in the max bet pot after you talked it up on here a while ago). Banker was gonna be buratino which has just been withdrawn and the rest of the day looks like a minefield so any advice much appreciated!!!

Mizzou yesterday, hold up horse who was ridden differently because of the way the racing has gone this week. Shrewd trainer.

Top Notch Tonto. Not ridden differently because of the way the racing has gone this week. Clueless buffoon of a trainer.

No complaints though, well done Reet.
