You Are What You Eat

Tesco will now be supplying burgers to McDonalds - this has caused a few menu changes.

Hindquarter pounder with cheese
Double Trigger cheeseburger
Big Mackeson
Big Buck's Tasty
Happy meals will be replaced with My Little Pony meals for the kids

Could anyone with a legal insight riddle me this:
Are there any grounds for a "class action" against Tesco on the basis of mis-selling etc under the Trade Description Act or such like?

My Little Pony meals

My Lidl Pony Meals?

When out for a meal last night I overheard a row in the kitchen. The waiter was asking where were the two horse salami plates for table two, the chef was saying there was no mention of them in his notes. "Look" said the waiter. "There. Under starters ordered".

Seeing as no one got poisoned this is all good craic.
It occurred to me that 29% horse does not get into a burger by accident. Having see Silvercrest foods website I have little doubt that Tesco got what they ordered.

Each product is produced according to the individual customer’s specifications. The range of products produced goes from a 100% Aberdeen Angus beef burger to an economy meat burger. Each product is tailored to individual customer requirements through meat species, meat content, fat content, plate size, packaging style etc.

All of the products in the Silvercrest Foods product portfolio are produced to the highest standards using only the highest quality, fully traceable ingredients

Neigh.

Horse meat isn't poisonous. It isn't even unsafe. The problem is that it ended up in products it should have been nowhere near.

I ate plenty of horsemeat when I was in France.

My favourite one today goes as follows

" I went into Tescos cafe and the assistant asked me if I wanted anything on my burger ?

I replied "£10 each way "

Don't think the Tesco burger issue will affect the Cheltenham Gold Cup, after all it's Ascot that has the Champion Steaks.
