Must be an age thing. The horses of the 00s don't kindle in me the same emotions as Crisp, Red Rum, Titus Oates, Nijinsky, Brigadier Gerard, etc.

My favourite steeplechaser was West Tip, who of course was far from the best.

Perhaps my favourite Flat horse was Mill Reef (although Sea-Bird was even better).

My favourite Hurdler was Taufan Boy, who of course was clearly the best of all time... well ahead of Night Nurse, Istabraq, Baracouda and all of the potential Golden Cygnet had to offer...:)
