Losing day, but only small.

Every year I swear I will keep Cheltenham Festival bets to a minimum, but when you're looking for "wrong prices" it's hard not to get involved.

I think the ground will be key tomorrow - it won't be any quicker than Good but, after the Winter we've had, there's plenty of horses going there with credentials achieved on a testing surface and a fair few of them could find things happening a bit too quickly for them.

Cracking, in fact.

System Bet solid, but it was my Cheltenham bets where I did the damage.

If you think Sober Glory doesn't win the Supreme if he pings the last, f**k off my thread, f**k off this forum and f**k off out of my life for good.

I had 16/1 win only ante-post and in the last 48 hours I organised smashing the back doors off the remaining double-digit odds.

Fortunately the latter was each-way so no damage done.

Arkle no good, then I had Saratoga (well under the odds - FML!) ante-post plus third and fourth in the Fred Winter at monster prices (again each-way) and more place money still in the Ultima.

Brighterdaysahead proved an each-way bet to nothing in the Champion then yet more place money (swimming in it by now in the Plate.

By now I've hit the woodwork so many times my luck has to change and in the last Holloway Queen delivered for me and I got even more place money on other bets too.

It all added up to over 50% ROI on the day and I'll take that every time.

Already organised Wednesday and Thursday bets, so time to watch a bit of AW and enjoy the Champions' League with a jug of hot chocolate.

Had something on the first winner after the drift and picked up place money in drive and drabs, but not a great day.

Still in front on the meeting, though.

I'm well ahead of the game, with bets organised for both tomorrow and Friday.

Plus tomorrow I'll be on it like a car bonnet with ten Saturday races I want to look at.

It's a game of fine margins and Home By The Lee turned what would have been a bad losing day into good winning day.

The veteran was far too big a price according to my analysis and it delivered a second winning day out of three for me at the 2026 Cheltenham Festival.

The System Bet and the AW Data Model pretty much cancelled each other out.

I had a King Prawns in spicy garlic sauce with egg fried rice to celebrate and I just completed my supper with an exquisite mini-jug of hot chocolate.

I've already organised Friday's bets plus Midlands National involvement on Saturday, but I've got another nine Saturday races to study and that will take up the rest of this pleasant evening.

Somewhat (alright, very) windy outside - I ought to let Walsworth back in, but I thought he'd like the challenge of nocturnal gardening without a torch.
