One of my shites this one, so take no notice.

I did think he'd be more of a spring horse, mind.

Made all in both bumper outings and was impressive when making a winning hurdles debut at Perth (20.2f) in September. Ran to a similar level on her next 2 starts, before finding it tough in Grade 2 last time. Leading contender back down in grade.starstarstarstarstar

I put a horse up today who really impressed me when winning first time up for Venetia Williams...If I am right and her French recruit Demnat wins again today she may just have found a future star.

Interesting to see its entered for the Kim muir.which is a massive step up in trip.

Placed twice in bumpers last spring and progressive form over hurdles this term, second to the reopposing Hashtag at Catterick before winning a 19f Ascot novice 3 weeks ago. Definitely more to come and Kielan Woods seemingly prefers him to yard's other runners. starstarstarstar

Pic Roc has improved with each start over hurdles, progression which should continue for a bit longer yet, looking in control when going around 3l clear after a good jump two out but worn down late on. Like his winning stable-companion, everything about him suggests he'll do even better over fences.RP

Scored twice over fences here last season and arrives in decent nick, still close up when fell 2 out in 2m5f chase here 23 days ago. Possibilities returned to this sphere. starstarstar

3rd/10 6/1 - Ned Tanner ran respectably on his first outing over hurdles for two years, not shaping like he's ahead of his mark for all that he came from further back than the front pair.RP

Unbeaten over hurdles and has continued progress over fences this season, landing 25f Aintree novice handicap before good second to Stay Away Fay in Sandown Grade 2. Grade 1 winning hurdler and a top-class chaser, with his only defeat in his first 8 starts over fences coming at the hands of El Fabiolo in last year's Arkle. A shocking mistake 4 out provides an excuse when beaten by Elixir de Nutz here on Trials day. The obvious threat to El Fabiolo.starstarstarstar

Reached a fairly useful level over fences in France and made light of a 32-month absence on his yard debut when easily landing 20f handicap chase at Ludlow. Not won since his unbeaten novice hurdle campaign (last success in 2021 4-Y-O Grade 1 at Aintree) but he's undoubtedly well handicapped and offered a bit more back in this sphere at Chepstow 3 weeks ago. Stronger headgear goes on and he's in the picture.starstarstar

Smart hurdler who quickly put his Naas performance behind him when winning 5-runner novice chase at Punchestown (16f, heavy, 1/2) 27 days ago, easily. Open to further improvement as a chaser. starstarstarstarstar

WON 30/100F - MISTER POLICEMAN made it three out of four over fences with probably his best jumping performance to date. The small fences were probably a help in that regard. He never looks like a horse that will blow you away in terms of winning stylishly, but he does continue to get the job done. He might just be a horse that keeps a bit to himself and could well come into his own against better company.RP

Good-looking sort who got off the mark in a 5-runner novice at Carlisle (19.3f, heavy) 26 days ago, rallying to lead final 50 yds. Still has room for improvement in his jumping but remains unexposed on just his second handicap start. starstarstarstarstar

4th 3/1JF - Jagwar is likely capable of doing something from this mark if he learns to jump and settle better, errors at the final two flights finishing him off after being a bit choke out from the outset.RP

Achieved a useful level of form over hurdles and off the mark at the second attempt in this sphere at Ascot (16.7f, good) in December, albeit he was arguably a fortunate winner there (left in the lead 2 out). Ran poorly next time and stable form has to be a major player.

WON 5/1 -PERSIAN TIME rebounded from a poor run at Cheltenham on his last start and has given a boost to his yard which has endured a miserable time recently, notably at the Cheltenham Festival. He travelled into the race with purpose but a less than fluent jump at the last nearly cost him the race before he rallied gamely. He can build upon this and stepping up to 2m4f looks as if it will suit.

WON 4/9F -COCO MADEMOISELLE survived a momentum-stopping mistake two out to win for the second time as a hurdler, taking it in the manner the betting market expected. She can make a fair handicapper.RP

Kateira seemed (to my eye anyway) to be given far too much to do yesterday (2.10 Kempton) and flew home. Might have snatched 3rd if she’d winged the last and she’s one I’ll be keeping an eye out for if she appears in one of the valuable handicap hurdles at Aintree. It wouldn’t be like Skelton not to lay one out for a big prize would it?

Fairly useful winner over hurdles and built on an encouraging start in this sphere when getting off the mark over 15f here in November. Decent placed efforts both subsequent completions but he's unproven beyond 2½m and doesn't appear to be crying out for a stiffer test.starstarstar

5/6 7/2JF - Cerendipity had avoided mistakes at Catterick last month but his jumping frailties resurfaced here, successive errors from three out putting an end to his challenge.

Recorded back-to-back chase victories last spring and plenty of good efforts in defeat have followed. Latest remote third of 4 at Taunton (2¾m) wasn't one of them (raced too freely) but she might fare better back down in trip with a hood added. starstarstar

It’s too late for this season, but if anyone is keeping notes of those to keep in mind for next season you’ve got to include Regent’s Stroll who won impressively at Newbury yesterday in the £100k Goff’s bumper.

He won well at Ascot in November and was put away for yesterday’s race so as not to incur further penalties beforehand. I can do no better than to record the Racing Post commentary and stable quotes after the race.

REGENT'S STROLL, a cosy winner of an Ascot bumper on debut in November, had to concede weight all round, being a year older than his rivals and having a 4lb penalty, but he stayed on best - having been slightly outpaced early in the straight - for an impressive win. He's from the family of Denman and connections look to have a very exciting novice hurdler for next season.

We've always thought REGENT'S STROLL was very smart, but we were nervous about having to give most of them a stone. He's obviously very good and you couldn't be more impressed with that. He was doing his best work at the end and that would be it for the season - what more does he need to do? Who knows what the future holds, but I'd say he's the best bumper horse we have and if he hadn't been qualified for this race, he may have gone for a championship bumper at Cheltenham or Aintree - Charlie Davies, assistant trainer.
