Champion Chase 2020

Cilaos Emery should be in that list Euro - He beat Ballyoisin 7L, hands and heels in receipt of 3lb. Ballyoisin best A Plus Tard nearly 3L giving that horse 9lb. Cilaos Emery jumps and travels well and will be a danger to all.
Yeah, I'd also like to have Cilaos Emery onside as it stands now. Let's not forget he was the stable number 1 novice chaser over 2m last winter. Was clearly rated ahead of DDG and Real Steel by the stable.

The DRF should be informative, but I highly doubt that WPM will run Chacun Pour Soi against CE, despite different owners.

If CPS takes on A Plus Tard again over 2m at the DRF (Which seems to be the common consensus), where does that leave CE to go for a festival prep run?

Min is far superior to Frodon, don’t even try telling me different. The fact Frodon can win a Ryanair absolutely means Min can.

2m 2m4f or evening 3m, 2 horse race, Min beats Frodon every time, and probably on the Bridle.

I know you are probably currently suffering from sleep deprivation ( congrats on the twins) but the above is balderdash.

Didn't segal come out with something last year like that Min was in the top 3 2 miler of the last 20 years?

I’m a fan of Min but that’s an appalling shout.

Especially when you consider we’ve had the likes of Dodging Bullets and Fox Norton.

Remember him saying it on a podcast. But not sure he said 20 years... IIRC, he was making the point that since the days off Moscow etc. there's been Sprinter and Altior and not many others you could say were better than Min. That was the point I think I remember him trying to make anyway.

Looking through archived posts

Segal said that Min is one of the greatest 2 Milers ever and is just unlucky to be in the Altior era

DDG at 14/1 doesn't represent value imo (you may already be on at bigger prices?).
I'd much prefer Real Steel at 20/1 in the same colours as a stab in the dark cover bet.
He will prove to be a much better chaser than Duc De Genievres in time, if he's not already (Think they have the same OR at present).
The 20/1 Real Steel for the Ryanair (as cover) has a nicer look to it today if you took the price. He's a general 10/1 shot now or only 8/1 NRNB.

I've been a fan since his novice chase debut last year and love following horses like that who always seem to be underrated, which he was again in the betting today.

You'd have to think the Ryanair is the race for him at the festival, but he does hold a gold cup entry too.

We didn't learn much today bar Footpad is finished. I'd be shocked if he isn't one of those horses that will never go deep again after bursting.

Agree with Footpad. I was willing to write last season off, but can’t now. Might win a decent handicap if he’s campaigned well enough but that’ll be it.

Yeah agree on footpad. Maybe he was never that good a chaser to begin with...?

I know he looked really good on his first few starts over fences, and thanks to you we all profited heavily when he won the Arkle.

But a couple years on and on reflection, that Arkle is the textbook definition of a race that absolutely fell apart. 2 jockeys in front lost their minds... When you trawl through the rest of Footpads form since then, I think it's very difficult to see any form lines that make him a genuine OR 165 horse.

Real Steel is a lovely horse but all his form is right handed. I'd have been interested in him for the King George but you've got a nice price to find out!
