I went on last night to put a few bets on the Sportsbook for Cheltenham. I keep getting the message “due to regulatory constraints betting on this selection is not allowed” This applies to every bet I wanted to place. I have money in my account.I did try to contact the customer support but they seemed to be on an extended tea break or watching the football!
Help!!!

I got a few on there last night with no problems. You been winning a lot on there? Best thing is to just keep trying to contact customer service.

No! I don’t think they’re going to be too worried about me and my £1 ew!

Wait until you try to withdraw £5,000 out and they stop you, ended up doing a deal to let me have £2,000 and would keep the rest in...all on the Phone...rang them back with a recording, told them I was going to the police with the recording and account details if they didn't give me all my money...Settled in full and closed my account, they closed my Paddy Power one too....

Is it maybe defaulting to Betfair Australia or something bizarre like that, jinnyj?

Failing that, Betfair Customer Support on Twitter are usually very quick to respond to queries.

Like I’d ever have £5k in my account!

I have just spent nearly two hours with Edward but he has failed miserably. He wants me to turn off my VPN but isn’t allowed to advise me how to? So more help.
Whats odd is that a friend has logged in to my account and put on three small bets for me and it was fine for him so obviously my devices. iPad, iPhone and desktop.

No idea. Edward seemed pretty thorough. Don’t do Twatter.

Mo - see below, all available on play store and free. They're a bit clunky, but relatively usable. It's thin ice legally - be careful with peoples rights to privacy. Maxbet was in a C2B conversation so was probably okay.....

Apparently according to techy friend I have, it to do with my IP deciding that my registered address is in some foreign land which doesn’t allow betting hence my struggling with the Tote as well. And despite checking location which say UK.
So on phone to IP. Guess they might answer sometime before Christmas.......

I'm pretty sure quite a few of the guys on here use a VPN so I would wonder if any of them experience problems getting bets on for that reason and, if so, how do they circumvent the issue.

I used to use a free VPN to get bets on when I was living in Belgium, which doesn't allow online betting with bookmakers based outside that country.

That used to work fine at first, but as time went on the various bookie sites started refusing me access. I'm guessing they were forced to clean up their act and introduce software to detect and block the better known VPNs. I then started using one of the cheaper subscription VPNs but after a while that stopped working too.

This is completely over my head! Can one of you explain and possibly advise?! I think the Tote person talked about VPNs and I did go looking but can’t remember!

Does anyone know if there's a difference between using VPNs and using the incognito facility with your normal browser?

I've always suspected you were a deep state operative. No wonder so many Forumites have mysteriously disappeared without trace.
