How bad will the thunderstorms on Monday be? Are we wanting to back soft ground horses for the first day or two?
As someone who likes a bet there's no better place to back a winner than York. I hear the racetrack is lovely for a day out.
Lots to talk about then.
I am interested in a horse of Alan Kings's called Inchicore. I think she will appreciate potential cut in the ground and the extra trip of 2 miles should be fine based on her staying on fourth in the John Smiths Cup.
She is currently entered in a staying handicap on Wednesday where she would have a big chance. She's also in the Ebor but she wouldn't currently be making the cut for that with a mark in the nineties.
Soapy Stevens is another good horse entered up in the same race on Wednesday but who threw his race away at Goodwood when hanging badly during the race. He did well to finish in the first four given that. I am not sure how he would handle potential soft ground though.
There's a few horses being touted for handicaps by our forumites. I like Northern Express a bit for Thursday as he was fourth to a horse I think has a lot of potential in Fresh at Ascot..while the fifth horse won nicely enough today. The Hannon filly System has scope for improvement but this race looks very hot and I'd be surprised if she could get involved against the likely opposition. I don't think either of the above two would want soft ground though.
I know Euro likes a William Haggas trained horse called Golden Voice in that race so maybe he can tell us more about that.
Are we all still seemingly so keen on John Leeper in the Ebor? What horses would a soft ground Ebor bring into play?
