Maybe Auguste Rodin just wins?

If anyone wants to back Slipofthepen to show their solidarity and allegiance to The King then I wouldn't put you off. :) :) :)

I reckon the horse was named after that expensive pen Harry and William bought their father, the one he couldn't get to work after signing himself in, after his mama, our late Queen Elizabeth, sadly passed away.

So what are current views? I didn’t see Arrest live but just watched it and it look like the first and second should have been running at Cheltenham! Big, galloping types. Did it rain a lot before the rain as it looked testing?

I actually thought that San Antonio showed a really nice attitude. I know the early part was messy but he looks a nice neat type who is adaptable, settles and handles a tricky track well.

Military Order is a lovely individual and coped very well around a track that wouldn’t have been ideal and I think there was more in the locker. Second ran well and I wouldn’t underestimate him either. The third got going too late and still looked green and he could be closer next time as he didn’t get the run of the race like the other two. An interesting trial for me although a huge shame it was transferred to the all weather.

I’m looking forward to the Dante now next week. MO has gone joint favourite for the Derby too I see.

Nothing's knocked my eye out yet - yes the Lingfield race was OK but I'd rather back the King's horse for the Leger than either of the front two for Epsom. I'm still a bit miffed Silver Knot ran in a soft ground Guineas

I was considering backing him yesterday when he was 4s but that's gone. Of the front lot in the marker I prefer him to Military Order (not convinced quality wise). Passenger looks a non stayer to me and Arrest maybe a Leger type? It's a cliche but he is the only Group 1 winner amongst that lot. Now he's shortened I doubt I'll be betting the race.

I don't see the value in betting win only in this race either.

Instead I'll be playing reverse forecasts and tricasts on Auguste, Arrest and White Birch with an each way saver on Dear My Friend.

Amazed you think you know more about Passeger than SMS?

:D Just going off the pedigree plus did he have an opportunity once clear to finish closer that he did in the Dante? I think so. Also, I'm sure he thought Carlton House would stay.

Would anyone doubt its stamina potential if it were trained by O'Brien?

PASSENGER

(USA) b. C, 2020 {9} DP = 3-5-17-8-1 (34) DI = 0.94 CD = 0.03

Much more stamina potential than Carlton House (by Street Cry and who was only beaten a length in his Derby).

CARLTON HOUSE

(USA) b. H, 2008 {1-n} DP = 6-2-8-6-2 (24) DI = 1.00 CD = 0.17

Also, I would suggest that Stoute left plenty to work on going into the Guineas.

I'd take a chance at double figures maybe but Ulysses out of a War Front mare doesn't scream mile and a half to me. Plus it's not just staying 12f, it's staying better than all the Frankel's he's gonna be up against. Carlton House didn't have that problem.

Passenger May have stamina, but he certainly didn't have the speed to go once in the clear. White Birch had been off the bridle two furlongs when he drew alongside as Passenger got clear, and he carried on pulling away.
The stable is confident enough to supplement him but the snippets of money that were shown before he was a definite runner, haven't exponentially gone through as you would expect, he looks more likely to drift than strengthen.

Verdict: Just another Passenger!

It's also about who's doing the steering and Richard Kingscote's positional sense is beginning to worry me.
Another debacle today.

I've just had what amounts to my first look at the race and can't help thinking it's a seriously substandard renewal. I'm starting to look at potential longshots.

Kingscote had the chance to go through a gap moments before he got boxed in by Atzeni...

I think Military Order for the win; San Antonio, Covent Garden and Dubai Mile for the places. It’s just my take on the breeding.

Was a real shocker...............He's got terrible hands if he can't settle a horse like her in 3rd or 4th position instead of way out the back..the likes of Oisin could....and he'd have won a minute on her

The Derby....Got a feeling Aiden's wasn't anywhere near ready for the 2000 Guineas and we will see a different horse this time.

Looks sub standard and the horse is bred in the pink
