    Retirements & Departures 2011

Hoping Tricky will be okay, he is a nice horse and would make someone a good hack. Shame about Sir Gerry, really liked him too.

You don't know what you've got till it's gone.

The internet has changed the way we live, no doubt about it. The world is a much smaller place. My dear old dad who died in the 90's always said that in his opinion we were entering the age of communication. We used to have these conversations about the great ages of enlightenment, art...

    Road To The Champion Hurdle

I did not back Binocular and am not even a fan, respect him though. But this is a real shame. I don't understand how some substances are banned, something to treat an allergy does not appear to me to be one which would enhance a horse's chance in a race, and I thought that was why substances...

    Dubai Carnival

Took myself down to the bookies today so I could watch his race. Double each way result for forum connections as Crazyhorse was involved in the breeding of Bergo who also came 2nd. Well done Jules - he tried so hard and totally agree think he may have been closer (or won!) had he been given a...

'Scuse me, while I kiss this guy

Well, this thread has cheered me up for sure! :D I can't think of any off hand, but do know I've had a few ....

    Retirements & Departures 2011

Yes, of course, I'd forgotten that Colin. Are you on the list of those who he dragged about? I always remember him as being very strong, and everyone says at one time or another he dragged them in or out of the yard. My only claim to fame is he stepped on me once. :)

    The Tudors - arrggghhhhh!

Having been foaled and grazed in America I am sooo embarrassed about this whole series. To make it worse my brother and wife were visiting us this summer and mentioned to us that we really ought to catch this wonderful series about Henry that has been on over there. (GRRRRR!) It was...

Hurricane Lamp put down in retirement aged 20. Much loved local legend round these parts, I'll miss him. :(

    Unedifying sight ?

Seems it did not happen but was being talked about on course. We had some friends who had a horse in the race (pulled up) and the buzz from the jockeys, owners, trainers lads etc after the race was that there may well be bans, especially for the horse who stopped and then carried on and came 3rd...

    Life sucks ...

That does sound good - but remember to give him something familar in the room with him so he has his own and his owners smell.

    Unedifying sight ?

I agree that the race was not nice to watch, I was just praying that nothing died. But I have to hand it to the winning horse, he was so brave. As were they all. I hear that the jockeys who finished the race have been banned for doing so. This seems very strange ...... surely it is the...

    Life sucks ...

I agree - black cats do seem to like to play gamnes with us on the stairs, our Minnie is black and it's her fav place! :D Moe, you can have a cat flap put in glass, or double glazing. We had both done in various hoouses. It's costly, but very nciely done by any window company, quick and...

    Life sucks ...

This sounds so awful for you Denise, glad it appears to have gone back. I've never heard of this kind of thing. Sheesh there is sure a lot of mysterious stuff that goes wrong with us and our pets. Poor you! I had a funny cat morning, as you do, if you own them. Had an old friend I've not seen...

Many thanks Gal, I benefitted much over the tenure from your informative comments and your dedication to keeping us all on topic. Best wishes for the workload and hope you keep posting. :)

    Life sucks ...

You could be right Andy, that is about what you eat making you tasty or not. I used to give my cats a yeast and garlic pill which made them unattractive to fleas .... and some horses who eat gralic (good for respiratory) are not bitten as much by flies. Red - Oh NO! God you've been through...

    Get well soon Diamond Geezer

Yes DG, I've missed you too and wondered if you had changed your regular standing place or something. :) Glad to hear you are okay, well, nearly okay. Sounds like quite an adventure! I was on Warfarin for awhile and discovered that when I ran into anything round the house, as you do, I got...

    Life sucks ...

Nice to have some Dougal news!!!!! :D Poor little hairless wonder. Spring should make him feel better too. My cats love the sun on their backs, they always roll around in the first soil they can find and come in and scatter it all over! I feel for you having to put drops in his eyes, all of...

    Congratulations David Pipe

I have a lot of time for David Pipe, always very friendly and humble, almost surprised about his successes. I've been to the yard a few times and they are very proud of their horses and all are well cared for. I was really pleased for this latest achievement for them. This is indeed nice...
