    Havana Gold

I can't see a thread about Havana Gold's victory in the Prix Jean Prat yesterday. Am I being blind? Fantastic G1 double on the weekend for Teofilo. Barzalona up to his usual antics on winning in a very close finish. It will be interesting to see whether the Hannons up him in trip, given...

The Coral Eclipse Sandown Sat July 6

Don't think it's likely - surely they'll want to give him a chance. And just as surely, they can't run Camelot in this, can they? Think he'll come out of the race on Thursday and maybe Declaration of War as well. Is the ground likely to be good to firm? Fine for Al Kazeem but will it be too...

    Ballydoyle 2yos 2013

Does anyone have an update on names for these? I think trudij has a great chance with Australia. Surely he'll win his maiden the next time. I've just checked - he was the first picked.

The Coral Eclipse Sandown Sat July 6

I think Mars is a very interesting runner and maybe the only one that could spoil Al Kazeem's party. The distance is likely to suit, and the wfa allowance is very substantial at this time. I'm glad that there's at least one 3yo in the race - wish there were more.

    Ballydoyle 2yos 2013

You beat me to him, Del Boy. I'd like Galileo ex Simply Perfect please.

    Two year olds of 2013

Thanks for that, Sequoyah. I would have thought that, given RTR's proven stamina, both Giant's Causeway and Henry would have been better matches for her than Galileo. I guess it's a question of watch this space, or rather watch for the colt in Fabre's yard.

    Two year olds of 2013

That's a shame. I don't think that Rags To Riches' first foal, a filly by ??, made it to the track either. Doesn't bode hugely well for the Galileo 2 year old.

    Two year olds of 2013

The Aga Khan must own the Zarkava colt, so I'd guess he would go into training with De Royer-Dupre in France. Re Rags to Riches offspring, Miesque, do you know where her now 3 year old colt by Henrythenavigator is? Did he make it to the races last year - does he have a name?

    First season sires 2012.

Thanks, Colin, for your splendid work. I've followed this thread with interest all season. Glad your health has improved - hope you soon have a complete recovery. I disagree, Reckless, I think this was a lovely bunch of first season sires - some real quality (not quantity, I agree). It will...

Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe 2012

Yes, Bar, but given he'd have the 3 year old allowance, where would Camelot finish if all those horses you mention ran to their ratings? Seems unlikely to me that he'd run, not least because Joseph wouldn't be able to ride him. Wouldn't it be nice to see another jockey on him, but who would it...

    Lord Oaksey R.I.P.

Thanks, Steve, for pointing this out. Sounds totally sincere and utterly heartfelt. A tribute to a man rather than a tribute to a legend (which he also is, of course).

    First season sires 2012.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Colin. What a trooper you are to carry on with this despite far more important things going on. Out of curiosity, which stallion would be your favourite - one you'd really like to see win the first season sire title? All best wishes for better health soon.

    Ballydoyle 2yo 2012

Looks like you've got a good one there, hezz! He ran green and should do even better next time. Halfway To Heaven was a favourite of mine, a gutsy and talented filly. :)
