2 Mile Chasers 20/21

Last season’s Arkle winner Put The Kettle One may run in the inaugural mares’ chase – but will also have an entry in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.
She won at Cheltenham in November before finishing third to Chacun Pour Soi last time out.
“Put The Kettle On didn’t get an entry at Leopardstown and is aiming for the spring as well,” said De Bromhead.
“We’ll probably enter her in the Mrs Paddy Power Mares Chase (over two and a half miles) at Cheltenham, as well as the Champion Chase.
“You could argue her form is much better over two miles, but I think we should definitely have her entered in it (the mares’ chase).”

They have to go for the Champion Chase. If I owned a horse that had won the Arkle I'd half kill my trainer if he sent it to a Mares Chase.

Also they need to go back to the forcing tactics and use her jumping when they're back on spring ground. I don't understand why they'd drop her in like they did the last twice. Her asset is jumping and galloping, and making other horses try and go past her.

Has she not been exposed at that level enough to tempt you mares?

She looks like she needs further to me. I think she hasn't been able to lie up in her 2m races this season in open company

I do not like the fact that mares race exists but if she isn't likely to be fav in the mares, perhaps this is the race best suited

I think she'll be left in the QM until the last possible moment and will go mares if Chacun stays sound

Personally agree that an Arkle winner should be going for the QM whether or not there’s an easier option.
PTKO obviously can’t beat Chacun on form but we know she acts at Cheltenham. The fav may not and he’s got to get there anyway

Elimay is fired in off her mark of 152. Not that she will ever run in a handicap. She will take some beating in the Mares Chase.

They can go for the Mares Chase next year if they have to. It won't happen the other way round though. I can't imagine any circumstances that they go for the Mares Chase unless they all completely lose the plot PJ.

No chance PJ. They'll all be on early at 20/1 for the Champion Chase. It's wise to have her for the Mares Chase nrnb as a backstop, but that's all.

It was easy enough but beating Fakir just six lengths doesn't strike me as anything special.

Ah it was very impressive, the turn of foot from the top of hte bend to the back of the last was breathtaking, he was woth much more than the winning distance. Fakir will be interesting stepping up in trip.

Gets outrun up the hill i think, but I'd have him beating Eldorado Allen by the same distance as Shiskin. Might force a superstar performance from him.
