Colin and I agree that Pride of Dubai challenges the definition of a First Season Sire. This comes about because his first season at stud was the Australian (Aug-Dec 2016) covering season, which is 6 months before the covering season of the sires who produced the 2yos running this season in Europe. We will continue recording his victories.
Given all that he is a fascinating sire being by the USA champion Street Cry out of a Danehill sister to Rafha, who's the dam of both Invincible Spirit and Kodiac.

Last year these sires had their first crop. The three leading sires were Gutaifan, Night of Thunder and Cable Bay and they were well ahead of the rest. How do things look with a 2nd crop (so one generation of 2yos and their first generation of 3yos)? Here is the table in the order of Wins this season.
1. Golden Horn 72 Runners 30 Winners and 47 wins...... 10 of the wins are by 2yos
2. Night of Thunder 72 Runners 33 Winners and 39 wins
3. Muharaar 92 Runners 31 Winners and 35 Wins
3. Gleneagles 80 Runners 27 Winners 35 wins
5. Make Believe 55 Runners 25 Winners 33 Wins
6. Gutaifan 102 Runners 25 Winners 28 Wins 10 of the wins are by 2yos
7. Cable Bay 81 runners 17 Winners 25 Wins
Golden Horn and Muhaarar have done much better with their 3yo crops. Night of Thunder is still producing good figures. Make Believe does well with far less opportunities. Highclere may have a problem with Cable Bay (they have a problem anyway with his 3rd and 4th crops) as he hasn't done nearly as well with his 2nd crop of 2yos.
This is the colt who won at 125-l at Newbury in September. Won comfortably yesterday giving away weight and may be a bit better than people seem to think. By Monsun's son Vadamos he is out of a daughter of that useful filly Bahr who won the Ribblesdale and Musidora. The 2nd and 3rd were backed as if they were rated and they beat the 4th by 7 lengths The only trouble was that they were 3 lengths adrift of the winner.
The Dewhurst (2.55 Newmarket) looks a fascinating race and well worth making the effort to watch. I have been very impressed with Chindit, three races unbeaten looking to have a very laid back attitude but this is a very competitive heat with lots of potentially Group horses. Chindit is available at 3/1 at the moment.
Yes they fairly waxed lyrical about Chindit and you’d have to be disappointed even allowing for the fact he got stopped in running a couple of times. Really liked the first two. The winner is a half brother to Guineas winner Magna Grecia too.
On an earlier note, seriously impressed by Lone Eagle. That was some performance by a two On softened ground.
I thought the pace in Lone Eagle’s race was too strong. Ten furlongs for a 2-y-o on that ground is quite a test, granted the winner was at the front of the race from the start I just hope it didn’t take too much out of the horse.
