2021 2yos including Colin's First Season Sires

Wednesday
Only two turned up in the end and Chipotle was the winner. So that form looks solid but not outstanding. He looks as if he needs further already and being by Havana Gold you'd expect that.

No FSS action Thursday or Friday, un fact very few FSS horses running.

You were right Colin. Hannon's Hotline Bling by FSS Cotai Glory ground out a win in the first at Thirsk. Certainly resolute in the finish, on her last start she was 3rd in a race where Spring is Sprung was 4th. That race was won by 150-1 shot Arboy Will (by FSS Ardad). The 2nd in that race, Hannon's Zoltan Star, is entered at Chester on Thursday.

A couple of FSS in the Salisbury Opener. Ardad has the winner Vaunted representing him, while Decorated Knight has his first runner with Silver Bullet Lady (I believe Charlton's first 2yo) and the outsider Mirique represents Harry Dunlop and Ribchester. Mark Johnston's Out in Yorkshire is a short priced favourite.

Newmarket stages a 2yo maiden in which George Washington started his career. Palmer's Dig Two (Cotai Glory) is the only FSS representative but Hannon's Mehmas newcomer is likely to be favourite.

Two races two wins for FSS. Cotai Glory has another winner with Dig Two asserting in the final furlong and coming away from this small field. Another winner from that Windsor maiden. He was 6th to Arboy Will that day. The experts seemed to think this was his distance but he's a rangey colt who from his dam's line could get a furlong or two further.

Obviously not a total shock at Salisbury but Charlton's first 2yo, Silver Bullet Lady, won on her debut. I think this is also Charlton's first winner on the turf and only his 2nd winner of the year. Didn't dwell so much as fall greenly out of the stalls and was soon adrift of the field. Still last with 2f to go she took it up in the last quarter furlong and soon put distance between herself and the 2nd. These results can be flukes but she ran so green in the first part of the race one would hope she'd improve. She should easily get a mile despite the speedy sires in her dam's pedigree. She traces back to a Wildenstein filly called Bon Appetit whose dam was Sweet Solera.

5 2yo races spread over 3 tracks today and some FSS winners.
At the Curragh Profitable got another one on the board with Cromwell's Quick Suzy. At Beverley Galileo's son Mondialiste got off the mark with O'Meara's Hester Prynne.

2 of the other three races were won by produce of Starspangledbanner.

Latest first season sires table:

ARDAD Runners 10 Runs 16 Wins 5

COTAI GLORY 14 - 20 - 4

CARAVAGGIO 8 - 10 - 3

PROFITABLE 8 - 10 - 3

MONDIALISTE 4 - 4 - 1

DECORATED KNIGHT 1 - 1 -1

.......at the other end of the table

ACLAIM 11- 16- 0

Quick Suzy's victory is worth some comments. It was this filly's second start and she won easily by 5&1/2 lengths tackling 6f for the first time. Her previous run was against DO'B's Elliptic who beat her by 1&1/2 lengths at Tipperary over 5f. Elliptic, who is by Caravaggio, is probably Royal Ascot bound and apparently is highly rated. She may meet Quick Suzy again there, based on yesterday's run and the likely race is the Albany. Perhaps Donnacha may choose the Queen Mary, rather than take Quick Suzy on again. A solid piece of form and the 3rd at Tipperary, Harmony Rose, is entered at Cork on Friday (as is the 4th).

Two 2yo races today and both won by George Boughey charges. The Kempton winner, Thunder Love, was gaining her second victory and is by FSS Profitable: won easily. At Chester, Navello who was winning for the third time from four starts and won just as easily.

Certainly not. Stange to see such small fields.

They can't run these days if there's a firm or a soft in the going report.

If there's a form angel then Zoltan Star should be home and hosed in the 4.15 today: 2nd in THAT Windsor maiden.

Friday

Ribchester gets his first winner when Dascombe's Flaming rib goes in at Nottingham.

Harmony Rose who was 3rd In Elliptic's race finished in exactly the same place at Cork.

Monday

That young Mr Boughey had another 2yo winner, at Windsor. when Ardad's Beautiful sunshine won a Fillies Maiden.

Yes, ticking over nicely.

Very in and out as a racehorse. If I remember suited by Soft ground, which his produce haven't seen much of.

No FSS winners Wednesday though AOB put out a promising War Front colt called Yet, who's out of a Galileo half-sister to Giant's Causeway.

The 150-1 Windsor maiden winner Arboy Will steps out again in the first at Salisbury: looks a tough second run against some likely types. Plenty of FSS runners today at Salisbury, York and Newmarket.

Arboy Will didn't enter the stalls and young George Boughey had another 2yo winner with FSS Ardad's Superior Force. Boughey/Ardad and indeed Rossa Ryan seem a winning combination at the moment. Looking at his team in Horses in Training he has 27 2yos but none of them listed as being by Ardad. Presumably some of the winners he has had were purchased at the Breeze Up Sales.

The first 6f race for 2yos in Britain was run today and won by 28-1 shot Lusail who fluffed the start yet came round the whole field to win cleverly. Hannon's colt is by last year's FSS champion Mehmas and looks to have some ability.

FSS Ribchester had his second winner when Hannon's Gisburn stormed to a 6 length win at Newbury. Sounds as if he is Coventry bound.
While at Hamilton Tipperary Sunset kept things ticking over for Ardad.
