2022 Arc Thread

There's a preponderance of 3yo among the market leaders, yet only 3 have prevailed in the past 10 years

There's a couple, In Swoop and Sea of Class, who ran well enough to win some Arcs but were not given optimal rides.

Looking like the ground may not be as soft as last year.

Hope you're right, Euro.
Backed Mishriff ew at 25/1, on the premise they'll pull him if the ground's wrong.

Pity they can’t shift him to a different stall if they don’t :)

ps: I’m with you for a bit of a lark, though.

Well done all Alpinista backers.what a good result for Luke Morris and Sir Mark.

I had a good run for my money with AlHakeem 33s but unfortunately only 3 places a/p.

Well done the Alpinistas. I said before the race that there wasn’t a standout runner - but there was!!

Aye, well done to both of you.

Thanks Reet.

Performances like that remind me of why I follow racing as a sport. The sport of kings it is but it was a Queen that stole the show today.

Alpinista was awesome. I love to see a good horse travel well just tracking leaders like her today and follow through what they look like they are threatening to do. Only a very select few can do it at that level. Baaeed in the International earlier this year was another example.

I need to watch it again but it looked to me like most of the field were hard at it after a mile.

I won't forget this Arc for a long time.

Well done those who took fancy prices on Alpinista for this race earlier this year aswell. That was some foresight.

Just brilliant. Thought for a couple of seconds the line wasn't coming fast enough, and fair play to IG for ride on last year's winner, they almost got there, but just fabulous for the winning connections. Loved the reaction of her groom, fantastic for her too who's looked after her from day one.

Just a note that Sky Bet have settled ante post bets on the balloted out Arc horses as losers. Via twitter it seems they will likely void the bet if you give them all your details, but I don't really want to do that and am asking that they void these bets for all customers rather than essentially pocket stolen money.

Think you underrate both horses,Fist.
Doubt Mishriff wil run on the forecast ground, and will probably wait for the BC, but both wii show how wrong you are, in the fulness of time.

Well me and my best pal Dessie for the first 3 between us while Mishriff ran like a stuffed pig again

I doubt if he will ver see a racecourse gains after Gosden put his head on the chopping block telling us what fine form he is in.

I'm not knocking Baaeed I just don't think he's a 135 horse and the way Mishriff leeps running one bad race after another there is no grounds to be saying he is.

Be interesting to see how he handles Adayar who was too good for Mishriff when he was in top form.
Charlie Appleby seems to have got him back to his best so he should at lease get afair bit closer than Mishriff did.

Your belief in the winner was hard to ignore.

God only knows why JG ran Mishriff, out the rear on ground he hates, but only the insanely biased would see that as true form.
Adayar is essentially unproven at 10f, a distance Baaeed will murder him at, and most of the rational world will recognise him for the true champ he is.
That you won't tells more about you than the horse.

My bet is Adayar will give Baaeed a lot more to think about than Mishriff did.

Sure Baaeed should win but not like he did in that sorry excuse for a race last time:lol:

I watched the replay today because I was interested to see where Vadeni came from to finish 2nd as he's being aimed at next years race.

I couldn't for the life of me be sure which one he was as everything was covered in mud.

Could barely make out the grey ............Makes you wonder if it should be run earlier in the year????
