A Great Weekend in Dublin

LOL Melendez! - just wait til I get a proper camera (and learn how to use it ha ha)
I don't like the 'posed pic' as you can see - I like trhe 'on the wing' and 'off the cuff' stuff!

It does seem ages ago doesn't it? - the website is still in 'start-up' so far as financing etc goes so the small team are doing it all in their spare time between the 'day jobs' (and the children... half term and hols are a nightmare!!) - so it often takes ages to get things up: and there is no knowing if it will be 48 hrs or four months!!

Anyway I've tried to pick with TH in mind so as to give some idea what it was like over there, even leaving out the personal stuff, for those who couldn't make it. There are lots more pics esp of the Champion Hurdle pre- and post-race btw, inc a few better ones of some of the horses - I'd not yet established the 'no copyright' clause when I sent the pics in!

Another brilliantly written article, Headstrong. I am not sure why you were so concerned about the quality of the photos. They look fine to me.

If only all photographers were able to do the excellent journalism bit as well to tell the whole story surrounding the photos! I bet Eclipse were more than happy with that article.

Well done!

PS I really liked the Hayley Turner write up too.:)

Oh fffs!!! - that is what HE told me. Personally.
If he was telling porkies, and I can;t see why he would, that is hardly my fault

SL - just do yourself a favour and get off my back, will you

He was probably taking the piss, knowing him.

Nevermind getting off your back, I do believe you a long time ago asked people to point out mistakes to you in your captions - of which there are many. I know you so like to be accurate.

Pretty decent stuff all told; my only criticism is the inconsistencies with jockeys' names; if we can have Niall Madden identified as "Slippers" with reference to his father being "Boots", then it's a pity to have Shay Barry identified simply as "J R Barry". That's a minor quibble though, given the overall content.

Skorcher and Medical Card, winner and runner up respectively of 'our' bumper, the winningwaysracing.ie & Talking Horses Pro Am INH Flat Race at Navan in Jan 2009, meet again in the first at Naas today. It is clearly going to be the maiden hurdle of the season.

Of course Medical Card won that Naas maiden hurdle and now Skorcher has just won at Thurles.

And to think we helped launch them on their way. Where would they have been without us? :)

Rearrange these words to form a popular phrase: thing one men only minds have their on.

God knows. It takes a lot of organising and it's no mean feat to get more than five of us together. The Hennessy used to be a given for a meet up but not so sure this year.

On The Bridle comes with a safety warning on a night out...He thinks hes Phil Collins after a few pints....

Medical Card, runner up and best turned out in what was undoubtedly the 2009 bumper of the year, the talkinghorses/winningways Pro Am INH Flat Race at Navan, won the Grade 2 Woodlands Park Novice Chase at Naas today.

Those of us present on that fateful day will not be the least bit surprised.

I'm going to give racing a miss on the Saturday but will meet up that night and go racing Sunday.
