A new programme of forum competitions

I'd like Garrison Savannah, and if I win, it'll go towards actually getting there before I conk out from old age. Did see that great tv programme on it, the riders and the trainers - very relaxed atmoshphere, probly helped by mash - mesh - marsh - oh, lotsh of rum punshesses...

Draft of rules:

1. The Naps competition will be run from Monday November 7th until Wednesday December 29th.
2. All members and new members will be welcome to join.
3. Competitors must make two Nap selections per week.
a) One selection midweek and one selection at the weekend.
3. Staking will be the following:
Midweek: Staking will be either 2pts win or one 1pt e/w.
Weekend: Staking will be either 4pts win or one 2pt e/w.
4. Naps will be settled at SP.
5. UK and Irish racing only.
6. Competitors not posting a Nap will be deemed to have tipped a loser.
7. Selections can be made at anytime during the week. There will be no cut off for racing starting.
8. Any competitor who fails to post a Nap for 3 weeks in a row will be eliminated.
9. Entries will be allowed up until November 25th with a penalty of 6pts for every week missed.
10. On the last week (December 26th-29th) competitors will be required to select a Nap on all four days.

What have I missed?

I've met you half way Roddy. Even after 300 years of suffering I am willing to recognise the union for the sake of this competition.

How the hell can you manage to get 4 points in a week Colin?! You should promote it as a "voodoo" concept and get managers to pay you to transfer their players out of your team.

Good week for Gelatinous Tapeworms (PJ Whyte) 42 points for the week and up to third in the Fantasy Premier League (Talking Horses Table) and I slump to 14th. of 14.:(

Gelatinous Tapeworms head the league but a strong showing from Locamotiv Leyland and Nick this week.

Having neglected my Team for a few weeks I have been inspired by this post to use my "wildcard" and made 10 changes to my squad, for the better one hopes.

I've only ever picked one team and that was the first week :D forgotten my password and can't remember name of comp either - I presume the useless computer has been selecting the useless squad I picked. :o

Outstanding performance this week by Steve T and his "Transfer-tastic!" team.

Any interest in a deadpool competition? Pick ten people and points are awarded based on their age if they peg it during 2012 (eg if a 69 year old would garner 31 pts - 100-69)
Maybe entries could include one selection from the racing world.

That sounds like fun! Do you get more points for the younger they are? I'm not sure there's much fun in pooling the creakies, because we expect them to conk out sooner or later, but there must be some value in the 25-35 age group? I imagine the selection from the racing world is the next jockey to annoy Bruce...

The prize shouldn't be anything too fantastic, otherwise they'd be a strong incentive to start bumping people off as the year draws to a close... then again...

I suppose we'd better draw a line at kiddywinks, though - that would be in poor taste. Is there a prize? If I win, I might like a year's supply of multivitamins for the over 60s...

... but, come to think of it, as Hamm has (correctly, if ungallantly) reminded me that I'm an old woman, perhaps I could put myself on the list? If I conk out during the year (and I'm unfit enough to, especially after a surfeit of Dairy Milk mega-size bars) I could win posthumously, which would be extra good fun.

Yeah, no kids. No one under the age 18 is eligible (how old is Bieber?)

There will be a prize for sure. How about a free £50 bet on any race at the 2013 Festival?

One rule, only one racing person is allowed per entrant, but if they kick it double points are awarded. So Sir Peter O'Sullevan would get 12 points rather than 6 (100-94)

Anyway, put your name down if you're interested and I'll open a thread if we get enough interest.
