Annie Power, Hurricane Fly, The New One, Melodic Rendezvous, Grandouet & Rock On Ruby entered in the Aintree Hurdle

Dynaste, First Lieutenant, Silviniaco Conti entered in the Bowl.

Oh mercy.......I would love to see The Fly take his chance in the Aintree Hurdle.

Grandouet? Fu*cking Grandouet!!??

One can only assume that Henderson was deep into a bottle of Chivas Regal (or possibly meths) prior to last year's race. Absolutely no chance.

Cracking first day. Should get a good price on Menorah in the Bowl and Nicky baby has Fox Norton in the Juvenile.

Activial, Calipto, Tiger Roll & Hawk High among 22 in the opening 4yo Anniversary Hurdle @AintreeInsider on Thursday
i'll be seeking compensation for what happened to calipto at cheltenham

Bowl:

S/Conti 7/4
Dynaste 3/1
F/Lieu 7/2
Menorah 12s

Really surprised Conti is that short after getting beat in this last year when he didn't have as hard a race at Cheltenham as he did this.

Cant wait, I love springtime

The New One, Dynaste and Menorah with his fine Aintree record will be Thursday plays for me.
Might not be the best Melling chase field ever this year though.

unless mullins pitches ones of his aces into the aintree hurdle TNO should laugh at the remainder.

Didn't laugh at Zarkandar last year, and doubtless there'll be something to test his change of gear again this.
think he's improved a fair bit since then. he was still a novice. and ruby gave zark one of his masterful rides that day.

if you can spot one behind the mullins pair to test him then fair play to you. i definitely can't, and hope one of the two makes the trip (ideally the mare).

Bowl:

Dynaste 3/1
F/Lieu 7/2
Menorah 12s

Does this mean Wishfull Thinking will be allowed a go at the Melling Chase - disastrous decision not to run him in the Ryanair - on his January win and the way he finished like a train in the Champion Chase difficult to see him out of the frame in that .

Dynaste surely has the Melling as an alternative to the Bowl .

King George winner vs Ryanair winner over 3m1f.

King George winner is favourite every time.

Cue Card, who may have been injured in the process, stopped in the KG and Conti was handed the race. The hard race he had in the GC is a major negative as he ran below form in the Bowl last season and that was after a truncated effort at Cheltenham. He'd be far better off waiting for Punchestown.

TNO will take some beating. Ran a blinder last year as a Novice.
The Lieutenant for me in the Bowl.
As for Next sensation, he'll just give Claret Cloak a nice lead. As long as the ground is decent enough. Arnaud would certainly give that race more spice if lining up.

Powers have priced up the Melling:

7/2 Raj Express
4/1 Module
9/2 Ballynagour
6/1 Wishfull Thinking
7/1 Days Hotel
8/1 Baily Green
11/1 Peptite Rose and Rolling Aces
14/1 Rathlin
16s bar

I'd side with Module and/or Wishfull Thinking in this. Although I'm not sure two and half miles on good ground at this track is right up the latter's alleypipe.

TNO will take some beating.

Will he be backable, though?

I've gone low with the Champion Hurdle but have rated TNO upsides the other two. I suspect his finishing kick will be too strong for the field but he wouldn't be very far clear, if clear at all, on bare ratings.

If Annie Power runs the mares' allowance might be crucial and I haven't given up entirely on Grandouet as a proper hurdler. It'll be interesting to see if he runs in this and if so if Geraghty opts for him.
