Attention All Geeks

I got a refurbished iPad last week. Happy with it indeed. new battery and casing, as new, same warranty with it as with a new model. ATR video not working is easily solved by downloading an alternative browser

One of the guys in work was away at a Microsoft conference in Vegas (haha) - and the lucky git won a Microsoft Surface RT tablet.

It is nothing short of brilliant to be honest - by far the best tablet OS I have ever used (and I've used pretty much every tablet available as I am an applications developer).

It will fail miserably however due to Microsoft getting their pricing wrong (too much in comparison with a Nexus 10) and their distribution channels (you can only buy it via the Microsoft website). Total madness considering you can buy Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire in supermarkets and pretty much every high street electronic store. Also suffers from a lack of available applications.

It's a shame, because it really is a great device. The full fat tablet will be out in the New Year (Surface Pro) but once again it will also fail due to pricing - will be around £800 at current estimates.

My ipad is half on the blink and I don't have a laptop at home (I leave work one at work, on it enough). I have to think about same options I've sent to you, and Nexus does look quite good. The macbook though is the one Apple product I think is definitely worth the money. There will be no of nothing unless England beat India though... :D :ninja:

How durable are Apple products? My daughter has killed two of them in four years, as well as smashing the screen on her phone by letting it drop on the floor a few years ago.
