What do we know/think here? They charge 3% commission but how are they actually getting the bets on? If you start doing bad e/w everyday presumably they will restrict you. Can you do multiples?

Bet Brokers/Barclay Betting/Platinum Betting Services delete as applicable.

Personally I'd avoid - these things always go pear shaped in the end.

I signed up with them over a month ago.

My first bet through them Won. But there was a huge downside to that win. The horse was a thing called "The Blue Dog", running at Wolves. I had £25 at 8/1. The horse drifted and won at 12/1. No B.O.G. -- Cost me £100.
So that's it, if you can live with show-price only ......................
But it left a little sour taste in my mouth, 'specially as I'll bet that they put my bet on with a bookmaker that does give B.O.G., and kept the (my) £100 for themselves.

On the other hand, you can get on a monkey no problem, but the odds on offer decrease slightly in conjuction with increased stakes.

I can't answer about the possibility of being gubbed if you hit a good winning streak -- I haven't had another bet with them since.
In fact, I shall be withdrawing my balance shortly. (But I see that's a bit of a hassle too as they want I.D.'s and Bank sort-codes and everything.

By the way, for prospective Irish clients, BetButler are denominated in British Pounds only. No Euros accepted.

Minus 3% commission, Grey.

The lack of BOG is off-putting, especially - as Icebreaker said - you just know they are creaming the difference.

On a slightly related note, how are people finding Racebets
Great bookie ! No complaints from this quarter.
Proper prices ('specially near the Off on fancied runners), good functional website, and speedy withdrawals.
Their regular "Beat The Trader" feature that kicks back free bets is sweet, as is their Noontime priceboosts.
I like 'em. :)

Excellent, I'm not keen on having too may banners up as it is, bt if people had complaints I wouldn't promote them at all.

I did get an email the other day about the sign up offer changing so anyone signing up need to note the following

 • Customers must bet their initial deposit once first. After the bets have been settled they then need to go to ‘My Account’ and ‘Bonus’ where they can enter bonus code ‘WELCOME’.
 • Only Residents of the following countries are eligible for our bonus offers: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, India, Ireland, Malta, Mauritius, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
 • To bet with the bonus, customers need to play through the amount of their qualifying deposit once. Prior to making a withdrawal they will need to roll-over their deposit and the bonus 3 times each.
Racebets - up to £100 match bet for new customers, click here to go to the offer page

I like them too although the fact that I have to use MoneyBookers and therefore pay a rake on withdrawing my winnings is a bit annoying.

Especially like the fact that they're the first proper bookie pricing up the Coronation Cup and think that the 11/8 they have about St Nic could be a lock-in considering I can't see CDA turning up. I haven't seen him above evens on the machine since their market opened.

Opened an account ages ago (hope I used the link on here) and have given them a spin today. As I rarely back drifters I'm just interested in getting on and am impressed so far. I've got to the stage now where all my accounts bar one are redundant.

So they charged me £5.50 to get me on at best price on the opener in York

21/08/2013 12:49 EW York 21st Aug / 5f Hcap / Bogart 110.00 9.00 654.50 Won

I can live with that!

110 stake paying 654.50 on 8/1? That's a big commission isn't it?

That's the easy part !
It's when the time comes when you want to withdraw that it gets decidedly difficult.
I wish you well in that regard.

In my case it took four emails, two cross-channel telephone calls, and eight weeks of waiting before I got mine. I was confronted with every block, hindrance and bullshit excuse under the sun.

Without exaggeration, I would say that the "betting experience" with this outfit was the worst I have ever encountered in many a year. I'm just glad I've finished with them.

Did they give a reason?

The true reason, I suspect, was hinted at by I.S. in post #2 of this thread. i.e., ........ L.I.F., (I don't want to spell it out!).

But if it's excuses you are asking about, then, the excuses ranged from "lost in the email system" to "incorrect personal details". The one that particularly annoyed me was "your bank rejected the withdrawal". That is, my bank refused to accept funds paid into my account. Nonsense of course, as confirmed by bank personnel when I called into my local branch.

Its frustrating. I've got £1k in there and £240 in unsettled bets. I reckon I could easily spin that up to £5k if I knew they were solvent. I'd be playing a dangerous game though.

I hear ya !

What really persuaded me to close account was post #2 (I well remember Platinum Betting Services!). That, and the fact that my very first and then my very last bets crucified me because of no B.O.G. The first one was, as I referred to earlier a 12/1 settled at 8/1 ............... and the last one an O'Brien horse at 7/4 which had drifted to 11/4 SP.

Because I was waiting so long for settlement, I considered trying to "play the account down" (betting with Butler and laying same on Betfair), but as you know that can make matters worse if you hit a winning streak.

Anyway, I think if a person perseveres with them and gets tough, the money will come thru' in the end. I reckon you just join a queue, and they pay it off in bits and bobs as and when they get a few more quid from new signee's. :D

Thanks for your replies. Arbing out of the account is very clever...

If you know you'll get paid
