So what are everyone's thoughts and fancies for the BC?

Is So You Think going to be outclassed? Will they even run him against Uncle Mo now both are Coolmore owned stallion prospects?

Had Goldi lost her edge to win a record breaking 4th mile?

What about the 2yo races....any fancies there?

Can't have it that So You Think will be outclassed, though his first time on dirt is a worry.
Imo, pace and distance were both against Goldikova lto, and this is much more up her street. Doubt she'll disappoint.

I think So You Think's style of running will suit dirt racing, but whether he'll cope with the surface has got to be a huge doubt. He'll either bomb out or go very, very close.

I havent check the americans yet,
but Goldi is regressing, I dont consider the Foret the ideal trial and Strong Suit has shown better form in Europe, still want to see if Excelebration is a definitive non runner.

Dettori banned for the BC Saturday, story from RP site:

Ban rules Dettori out of Breeders' Cup Saturday

BY VICKI GLOAK 4:27PM 22 OCT 2011

FRANKIE DETTORI will miss the feature day of the Breeders' Cup after picking up a seven-day banfor careless riding at Newbury on Saturday.

The Godolphin rider was found to have caused Right Step's fall in the Totescoop6 HBLB Handicap after his mount, Willing Foe, clipped heels with the Alan Jarvis-trained runner.

The Saeed Bin Suroor-trained Willing Foe finished fourth in the class 2 handicap but was judged to have edged right and crossed Right Step, causing the colt to clip heels and unseat Harry Bentley.
Dettori, who had been set to ride at Doncaster but switched to Newbury after Racing Post Trophy contender Encke was withdrawn, scored on Pimpernel in the previous race.

The seven-day ban commences on Saturday, Novermber 5 - the second day of the Breeders' Cup. However, Dettori will be eligible to take the ride on Qatar Prix de l'Opera winner Nahrain, as short as 6-1 for the Filly & Mare Turf, is she was to take her chance on the opening day one of the meeting at Churchill Downs on Friday, November 4.

Can't remember being so underwhelmed in the build-up to a Breeders Cup. Hopefully once all the higher profile runners are confirmed the excitement will start to build. As a spectacle it's always one of my favourite nights of the year.

A father watched his young daughter playing in the garden. Suddenly, she just stopped and stared at the ground. He went over to her to see what had captured her attention.

He noticed she was looking at two spiders mating.

'Daddy, what are those two spiders doing?' she asked.

'They're mating,' her father replied.

'What do you call the spider on top?' she asked.

'That's a Daddy Longlegs,' her father answered.

'So, the other one is a Mommy Longlegs?' the little girl asked.

As his heart soared with the joy of such a cute and innocent question he replied, 'No dear. Both of them are Daddy Longlegs.

'The little girl, looking a little puzzled, thought for a moment, then lifted
her foot and stomped them flat.

'Well, we're not having any of that sh*t in our garden' she said.

 Homophobia is rife in this country

You're brave - I'm not sure I'd want my life's savings on HQ. I do really like Daddy Long Legs though (and Crusade)

I just think that AOB has a serious bunch of 2yo fillies this year and she has improved immeasurably in her last two runs absolutely hacking up!

I am sorely tempted to come out of my brief antepost retirement to back So You Think at 6/1. That's a huge price to me if he is a definite runner.

He runs. From the horses mouth....

I think this race is set up for him - he has a huge chance.

I think so too, if he takes to dirt. Uncle Mo is looking fabulous (saw him this morning) but would give me stamina doubts. Havre De Grace, Game on Dude, Stay Thirsty....not sure.

Mo arriving at Churchill :)

Wouldn't be a popular view, but my one doubt about SYT would be his stamina, on this surface.
I'm aware of his Melbourne Cup 3rd, his running on 4th in the Arc, and the sharpish track at Churchill Downs, but these US dirt races can be pretty attritional and twice he hasn't lasted home over Ascot's stiff 10f.
Be interesting to find out, and looks a lock for a place, but I wouldn't be counting any winnings till he's actually crossed the line.
