Breeder's Cup

Anyone give Await The Dawn a chance if he takes up his option in the Classic? He had always been touted as a likely type being by Giants Causeway out of a Dixieland Band mare so (unlike many European challengers over the years) he is actually dirt bred. Have to forgive one disappointing run last time out in the Juddmonte but as an improving 4 yr old with only 7 lifetime starts he would make a great across the board bet in the US Pools. As always seems to happen this time of year they are dropping like flies in the Classic so the two Ballydoyle runners would both have a chance in a wide open field.

Looking at the entries I would imagine ATD will go for the turf.

I think so too, if he takes to dirt. Uncle Mo is looking fabulous (saw him this morning) but would give me stamina doubts. Havre De Grace, Game on Dude, Stay Thirsty....not sure.

Mo arriving at Churchill :)

If they have to have cheekpieces on to get him out of his box........

Yep looks like the Turf OTB. Sarafina, Midday, SNA & Sea Moon also entered so could be a cracker. ATD doesn't really have the high profile of previous O'Brien runners so may go off at a nice price in the pools. Hopefully he stays in training next year and we can see him on the dirt eventually. They've been very patient with him all along so hopefully the best is yet to come. :)

Racing Post: THE Aidan O'Brien-trained So You Think looks set to be the soleEuropean representative in the $5million Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on November 5.

Stablemate Await The Dawn is also in the race as a second option but the four-year-old's first preference is the Breeders' Cup Turf.

Goldikova drawn 1 in the mile.

SYT in 5, Uncle Mo 12 in the classic.

Misty For Me 12, Nahrain 5 FM turf.

That's all I've caught so far.

I've omitted the sprints because I'm typing on an iPhone!

Raced for Simon Callaghan as a 2yo. Sold at Tatts for 75,000gns. Sent to USA after 2yo season. Had a setback. Ran once as a 3yo in a Maiden Special Weight at Hollywood in November and won by 3/4 length. Has run 5 times this year, won an allowance to start the season then followed that up with a G3 win. She then won the G1 Gamely Stakes, came 2nd to Stacelita at Arlington in the G1 Beverly D. Stakes and bounced back to win the G1 Yellow Ribbon Stakes. She's beaten a couple of her rivals already this season

ETA: Prayer For Relief scratched from the Classic - did not fly in this morning after spiking a fever.

The closer we get to the race the more I fancy So You Think. Haven't been a fan all year but this IS his race. Drawn well and the addition of blinkers could sharpen him up!!

Flat Out @ 7's looks a gift to me - 10f G1 winner last time out, working very well at CD by all accounts and would have run down HDG if they'd ran the Woodward over 10f IMO.

Uncle Mo - won't stay
So You Think - major doubts about the surface
Havre De Grace - would have run her down given another furlong in the Woodward
Game On Dude - Can't see him making all, last win @ 9f, weak race
To Honor And Serve - place chances, was running in an AOC two starts back
Stay Thirsty - Decent horse but held by Flat Out
Ruler On Ice - Too slow
Prayer For Relief - stamina? Interesting but steps up here
Drosselmeyer - Big price for a horse with proven stamina, likely to run into a place
Rattlesnake Bridge - Runing well of late, big price
Headache - Won a weak G2 LTO and needs to step up
Ice Box - V unlucky at 3yo, bombed LTO and needs to bounce back.
