Bumpers

40/1 into 16/1 for Auckland De Re on his debut in the bumper at Wincanton
Looks a strong race though including Roddy's and a well bred Henderson newcomer.

Plenty of big chances in the listed NHF race at Cheltenham today but would be excellent to see Virnon run well
Has won his first two 3yo bumpers so deserves his chance in this field and has been nibbled at this morning 10/1-8/1.
Small time connections so this is a big step and will be a test for James Corbett claiming 7lb but he saw off Richard Johnson on a well backed 2nd fav at Carlisle on his debut so has a good a chance as any taking on the big boys at HQ today

Southern Strife ( cost 340,000 guineas) , a brother to Dubawi Gold and Fort Knox, entered for a bumper at Bangor next week. Now with John Ferguson

Moon Racer goes straight to the Festival. From the Pipe website:

Talking of the Cheltenham Festival I have been asked on a number of occasions what we are likely to do with Moon Racer, who was such a deeply impressive bumper winner over course and distance back in October. There seems little point sending him over hurdles at this point in the season, so he has been given an intentional break since and is being prepared for a tilt at the Champion Bumper. I am pleased with him and he will head straight to Cheltenham.

Have to say the form of Moon Racer's runs at both Fairyhouse (when supposedly half fit) and Cheltenham read very well. Has been ridden very differently in the two races so is versatile and has to be a leading contender.

That ride from Coleman today was unreal....if they sort that horse out it could be something special.

Agreed Digger - a really extraordinary race. The balance of form is probably not that high (based on Act Now) but a literal interpretation would be nonsense. Stopping to a walk and the making up that much ground in the last two furlongs was pretty amazing. The ground looked pretty bad but the time wasn't too slow under the circumstances. As regards Vigil: the conditions allow for up to four runs so he is all set.

See The World is the right name for him, he saw parts of Wincanton today no other horse has seen
