He has wiped out Free Eagle who had every chance at that stage. To say the winner was easily the best horse on the day is a bit far fetched.
Free Eagle got upsides but I thought Golden Horn was pulling away again when he took him out.
Free Eagle would certainly have been second, and possibly would have won, without the interference.
What does the decision to maintain the placings say about our current rules? I accept that the interference was not in any way deliberate or the result of negligence, but imagine if it was, what would the stewards have done then? According to the logic of the rules the result would still have been unchanged, which would be grotesque.
Didn't look great for Brown Panther there; really hope he's okay.
